When Is The Run?

The next time has to be the run. Otherwise they wouldn't call it "This is the run" right? They next one has gotta be the run. They've been teasing us by drawing it out, playing it up for yucks, but the next time is definitely the run.

I was under the impression we've not actually had the run yet and all this was practice. ;)

It's this one. THIS is the run. Duh.

Episode 9 will be a anticlimax, and they won't even get to the last level. Then they bring it around for episode 10 and finish this thing.

Maybe the true run was the friends we made along the way

Would it be funny if they never made 'the full run' with Contra? Would people here be upset if after 6 more months they quit trying when the viewer count dipped? Or, would it be okay they tried and be MORE humorous they didn't actually do it.

Where were you when it was The Run?

Metal Slug 3 should be the next run.

@damodar: I love me some metal slug, but the problem with 3 is that if you don't impose continue limits it's a complete cakewalk, and if you do it's one of the hardest games ever, with no real middle ground in between. Besides, I don't think hour long videos are necessarily suited for this series.

Nah, it wasn't entirely a serious suggestion, especially since 3 has such a ridiculous extended finale, but it is an interesting question of what to do next though. Part of what made Contra work so well is that tension of the one-hit deaths in a game that's not too long and not TOO hard. I'm struggling to think of things with co-op that can be really tense that aren't just arcade games that are basically designed to take your money a la Smash TV.

Either way, it's a great format for a series! It's fun watching it play out, knowing that there are no second chances in a stream and if it all goes balls up, that's the show. It's great watching Vinny engage The Clutch and scrape past something by the skin of his teeth in Vinnyvania etc, but when the literal fate of the episode hinges on him succeeding, it's so much better!

It sounded in one of the first two episodes that they had a game in mind for the next run. Was hoping The Run would've started this week
