When should spoiler tags not be necessary for certain games

I'm only asking this because there are some very infamous ones like for FF7; that can be spoiled quite easily. But, its been 12-13 years since it was released.
 
And this goes for alot of other games too. And we all know about the infamous Persona 4 comic that sorta ruined it for Jeff.

I, personally, don't mind spoilers.  Definitely a good thing to not care about with some of my asshole friends.

I say never, how hard is it to type (Spoilers)? Plus shit has been ruined for me because people thought it wasn't  necessary.
