Which to buy?

Well i have the opportunity to get an Xbox 360 but i have a bit of a dilemma here. 
My cousin has an Xbox that hes willing to sell for 300 dollars, along with Gears of War 2, GTA IV, Bully, 2 controllers, and no HD just a seperate memory card that he keeps. 
 
I would normally jump on this deal but since hes had it for a few years i dont want to take the risk of it breaking down on me and then possibly have problems sending it in to MS for repair.  
 The second choice is just to buy a new Xbox 360.  
Should i take the risk just to get a few more things, or buy a new one?

No HD, no deal.  That's what I think.

No HD? Considering how expensive it is to buy a separate HD, as well as the expired warranty, might as well just buy a new console, man.

Well i guess a new one is the only choice because of the HD, Thanks for the help =]

buy a new 360. since HD are expensive. there might be a problem with it and when u need it fixed the warranty will be up or something like that.

like others have already said, absolutely buy new. that seems like a horrible deal.

Buy a new console mate, you can find those games second hand for dirt cheap anyways.
