I loved the Jurassic Park segment during the Big Live Live Show Live 3 and the moment I heard Ryan say it was as yet unnamed, I tweeted him my idea for a name and he's down for it!
So that got me psyched! The BLLSL 3 ended, Mile High Breaking Brad started and I decided to leave for dinner. I returned to fire up the stream and watch Brad's last two runs and his triumphant victory! Go #TEAMBRAD!
While still laughing/cheering from the hilarious high that was Brad's victory, I decided to pop open Photoshop and make a logo / wallpaper for the new segment "Jurassic Lark"!
Sometimes, the best solution is the simplest. The Jurassic Park logo is so iconic and so great, I wanted to try and keep as much of it as possible. I originally sketched Patrick's head silhouette but it seemed like such a shame to lose the dinosaur face. Let's face it, Patrick's best identifier is his awesome hair. So I gave the T-Rex a Patrick style hairdo and left it at that! Also, making an "L" to matching the logotype wasn't too rough. Like I said, with this one simpler is better.
Like my last wallpaper release, trying to hit every pixel size for people's screens is a bit crazy, so I made high res wallpapers for different screen ratios. If your screen is a ratio other than 16:9 or 16:10 let me know! The desktop versions are probably bigger than most laptop screens, but the 16:9 & 16:10 ratio should scale to cover all of the display sizes (made by Apple at least).
Jurassic Lark:
(hosted on my dropbox, so let me know if any errors occur):
iPhone Sized: 640 x 960, 143kb
iPad Sized: 2048 x 2048, 585kb
Desktop (16:9 ratio) : 588kb (16:9 Ratio Scales for 11" Macbook Air, All iMacs and PCs with screens of that ratio.)
Desktop (16:10 ratio) : 597kb (16:10 Ratio Scales for 13" Macbook Air, All Macbook Pros and PCs with screens of that ratio.)
Like my last stuff, the Giant Bomb crew can use it however they like, for video/shirt/posters or whatever. Ha although, this is SO MUCH like the original logo, I'm really not sure if this even counts as a fair use type of situation. But hey, DESIGN FINDS A WAY. ;)
