Kojima GDC Presentation

Who is going to be watching the Ground Zeroes/Fox Engine/BandagedSwedishBloke presentation later today? Is anyone excited about this or do you think its just a load of marketing hype for series past its sell by date? Where will people be watching it?

Myself, I am very interested to see what Kojima has got up his sleeve not because the games look so revolutionary, although I always look forward to a new Metal Gear, but because Kojima seems to be such a master at whipping the internet into seething frenzy of crazy conspiracy theories and wild speculation.

I look forward to the debate about whether Kojima is just a sentinet AI controlling an army of identical Kojima androids which it uses to go to conferences and tweet pictures of lunch.

I'm excited about everything to do with Phantom Zeroes and Ground Pain.

@yummylee:Any plans on where to watch it? It would be cool if they streamed it at GB so people could type mad cynical shit while it was going on.

Guess I will be watching it there then. Really wonder what he has seeing as it is an hour and a half presentation. I imagine it is going to be much more technical and developer focused than an E3 presentation. Is this going to be a big push to sell the engine? Are they the type of studio like Epic that sells their tech?

Do you think we will get an answer to the CG or not debate? I am not even sure that is one that they meant to start, I get the impression it might have just grown up organically from the community.

I have faith in ''Joakim's'' word that all of our questions will be answered come GDC. My theory as to what they'll announce is that Zeroes and Pain will be the same game. Ground Zeroes is of course the ''prologue'' to MGS5, being Phantom Pain. So chances are it may be like Snake Eater, or Sons of Liberty too actually, where there are two separate missions. Ground Zeroes will act as the intro mission ala the Tanker Mission in MGS2 and the Virtuous Mission in Snake Eater, and the Phantom Pain will act as the main course.

Knowing Kojima, though, that idea is most likely completely off-base and couldn't be more wrong.

I'm so fucking hyped, almost 5 long years since the release of MGS4 and now we're going to get a whole hour of Kojima goodness that no doubt hundreds will frame by frame for weeks to come.

I'm at work, so I will try to watch what I can. If it's supposed to be 90 minutes long then hopefully that means Kojima will go really in-depth on the FOX engine's technical aspects.

gaf has been providing me with hours of entertainment since Bandagegate. my conviction since the trailer reveal that PP is a part of the MGS universe remains well documented on Giant Bomb. havent slept properly, and have been up all night (other side of Earth) to see this, as well. after this panel on 'photorealism,' i will have to go back to the doldrums of every day life...

Little disappointing that after all of the speculation, the most obvious possibility happens to be the truth. I guess the Ground Zeroes segments are flashbacks or something. Still, I'm pretty damn excited! Miller's back, which got me pumped a lot more than I figured it would. So many damned callbacks, though. Which I guess is old hat for MGS, but yet another Psycho Mantis derivative?

I'm pretty fucking stoked for anything Metal Gear but I'm pretty bummed that David Hayter doesn't seem to be voicing Snake. If that is Snake? I don't know man.

Not david hayter, oh dear! The game looks fucking crazy but there's no context for any of it, wonder if any of that info will be revealed.

This is cool, but I still kind of wish MGS4 stayed "the end." It worked so absurdly and ridiculously well as a series closer.

I wonder if Snake'll be going through some sort of PTSD or something, hence all of the trippy craziness like the whale. As for Hayter, it could just be a temporary placeholder; though it's definitely weird why they'd ever use one considering how iconic David's voice is for Snake.

Didn't the duders mentioned one time in a bombcast that David was tweeting something like "what if I didn't voice Snake in the next MGS"?

@crosstheatlantic: Yeah, Richard Doyle. I think it'd be cool if they did get a new voice actor for Snake, if only because we're getting close to Big Boss and Solid Snake coexisting in MGS5. Plus I'm of the mind that Big Boss should have had a different voice actor to begin with in MGS3.
