Neon White Giantbomb Leaderboard Chasing

Are folks into this game? I've been really enjoying it. Just watching the number of places you gained go up on the global leaderboard each time you shave some time off your run is very satisfying and, oh boy, is shaving those seconds off super enjoyable. I was feeling pretty good about getting Aces on all the early levels, because I didn't even know about Dev times until Grubb brought them up on the Quicklook and now I have a goal to aim for.

My friends leaderboard, however, is a wasteland. I figure we can use this thread to talk about our experience with this game and also to share usernames and consoles, in case we want to get some friendly competition going.

@hannibal: Excellent! Very excited to see someone else I know on the leaderboards, lol. I have just entered the second world, been replaying missions a lot trying to get better times.

I'm absolutely digging everything about this game. I don't think it's gonna top Elden Ring for GOTY, but it's definitely on its heels. I love the overall style and zone out nature of the gameplay.

Yeah, Elden Ring is my top GotY contender so far this year, and this is such a different game, but, unless something changes drastically, it is gonna be neck and neck.

@slax: I’ve found it to run well! I was hesitant to buy because of how poorly the Switch can run some modern games and having to use a controller. But I haven’t found either thing to be a problem! Most of the time I’m doing poorly is just due to poor execution like hitting the button to discard a card instead of using the card. I just started the 2nd mission so maybe there’s some levels later where I’ll try the gyro aiming again. I just found it too unwieldy and it ended up hurting me more than helping.

So I finally bought the game and I've been playing the first level over and over trying to improve. I already love this game but I'm not very good. I have always been a console gamer so now at 41 I'm gonna learn how to play with mouse+keyboard in a speedrun game. It's a struggle but my god I'm having fun!

@dsouvannarath: You get one after you finish the first "Mission" I think (which is the first set of 10 levels). Once you get to the hub, you can replay levels.

I've gotten home from work and added everyone in this thread, from the couple of you who sent invites while I was gone it has already been inspirational for tackling levels I hadn't quite mastered. This game is seemingly even better with a shortlist of scores to chase.
