Seeing as my team (Romania) did not qualify I am cheering for Argentina as I would like to see Messi win a world cup. My goal is to watch every single game not miss one.

I'm rooting for Italy. Me, my brother, and my dad will probably watch the begining rounds together. If we are able to get to the later rounds, we will probably have some sort of party with the rest of my family.

I'm a bit torn myself.I live in the US right now,but was living in Brasil when the last cup took place, and just remembering how crazy that was, even when the tournament was disappointing to a degree,I do feel inclined to cheer for them.

The thing is - every year we do have a half decent chance. England are one of the top teams in the world. I think we're 7th in the FIFA world rankings at the moment. Getting to the last 8 (quarter finals) is well within our ability. And once you're that far, it's wide open. A couple of good games (and lets face it, any team can have a couple of great games with a bit of luck) and you're in the final.

Of course, I don't actually think we're going to to it, but there is always the possibility. The law of averages means that we have to do it eventually. Maybe this year is it?

Also, Darren Bent for england!!!!!! He's had a great season and deserves to go to South Africa!!!! Drop Heskey (who's is completely useless) and take Bent!!!!!!!!!!!

It'll be a bit boring because we've already won it tbh.

People seem to actually be marginally interested when the WC rolls around though. I'll be rooting for the US and Ivory Coast, like always.

Scotland aren't there so I'm blissfully watching as an impartial football fan! But I do want to see Algeria and USA do well as my club team sends a few players to them.

Spain. I'm a casual fan of Argentine, but I can't stand that douche Maradona. I'll also keep an eye on the US, after their very fine performance during the Confederations Cup.

Also, the 1st round groups seriously make me want to skip this fucking cup whatsoever. Seriously, the only group that can be watched without dying is D. The rest is a festival of shitty teams with one contender.

I'm probably going to adopt Holland as my team for the tournament, but really I'll just be happy to watch lots of good football.

Maybe Serbia can actually get out of the damn group stage this time. Here's to hope.

Also, what's soccer? Is that a drink or something?

I love the way the Dutch play. I grew up playing American football, so I don't have any really intricate knowledge of how the game is played, but the Dutch are so fun to watch.

Also routing for the US and England. People who are more informed: Beckham is out right? How is Rooney's injury?

Seems like Rooney could be back, even by tomorrow for the Sunderland game. Tbh, I wouldn't risk him, it failed horribly against Bayern and there's no point risking a re-occurrence .
Also, is Becks still going with the team? Obviously not to play, but as a kinda '24th' man. Presumably too boost England's WC 22 (?) bid

I'm supporting England as I always do, and will follow every country that has Man Utd players. But gotta say that World Cup since 2002 don't really have the same feeling for me at it had under WC 98 for example...

This truth is painful to me.  However, I will be supporting the US through and through.  Once they're knocked out, I don't really root for anyone but I still love to watch the rest.

I'm going to support Denmark since I'm half Danish, and if they goes out I will support Germany since I'm part German, and if they goes out, I will support Argentina because it's a team with a lot of interesting players.
