Anybody found similar humans in Gears of War and Krogan in ME?

I can't say much because i haven't played much of Gears of War ( I bought yesterday Gears 2) and Krogan in Mass Effect, but they seem similar. Both have their homeworlds mostly destroyed, are constantly raging war and are fighting extinction(Locust invasion and Genophage). Is that another moral lesson in videogames? 
 
Anybody thought about it?  
 
Or was i affected by the GoW 2 intro?

They are both over used video game/story tropes that can be linked to dozens of different characters and races across many different franchises.

As to your question...I still hate Mass Effect, so I don't really know.

They both wear huge ass suits. But Krogans are wayyy cooler :D

Shepard lands on gears planet, fights the reapers and locusts, with each game playing from the different perspectives ... also, Dom forms an emo rock band ;)
