    For me L4D 1, as though it doesn't contain the improvements of L4D 2, it is half (or one quarter) the price and has more appealing environments.  Just a personal choice.

 As a fan of the horror genre, like many of you, i present some sugestions for a day of a fear you'll never forget (I've heard that before...).

I hope you'll enjoy them!

A great Halloween for all!!!

Top 13 (+1) Sugestion for a Night of Horror

#13 - Fear

A chilling game a great atmosphere, a pet ghost and lot of firing around!

While in the days it was released it was a pain to play it, due loading screen that played nearly each half hour, now it is a great horror experience, full of tension, scares - and seconds of loading.

Get to know Alma, you'll love her!

#12 - Silent Hill Origins

A Silent Hill game for a portable console. And not made by the Konami Team.

It is fated not to be good... isn't it?

While it is true that it isn't as engrossing as other Silent Hill games (namely 1 to 4), it is a nice and well developed one, with some amazing and scary parts.

A good experience for a night of horror on the psp!

#11 - Dementium: The Ward

A portable game, yeah, but that it is bound to scary you like no other before it.

You awake in a empty hospital ward, just to realize that the only beings surrounding you, want to kill you!

It is very tense and disturbing.

If you have a DS give it a shot (no pun intended there)!

#10 - Silent Hill 4

A gruesome and anusual story about a man that can't leave his appartment thru his door (and has a big hole in the bathroom).

Though there have been better stories out there, this game really excels by his oppressive enviroment compled with scary and realistic oponents ready to make you their new saddistic plaything.

And the ending twist is also really disturbing. So if you have some emotional issues better skip this one aye!

#09 - Bioshock

While it is not true horror in the old sense of it, brought from the movie genre, it is quite a disturbing experience.

As your flight crashed down into cold and lonely waters, you start swimming among the wreackage only to know that you found the entrance of a dystopic underwater city.

There are no demons here, but a great deal of psychotic and paranormal activities in the vicinity for you to enjoy.

May god have mercy on your soul!

(There is no god in those halls!)

#08 - Clive Baker's Undying

As a honorable man, that never leaves a friend hanging dry, you are summoned to a irish estate to help dealing with a matter of family... hauntings.

Encountering hellish fiends, finding more to the story of the Covenent Mansion than you bargained for, and a hard challenge are going to occupy you more than a whole single day.

Good luck.

#07 - Hauting Grounds

A young girl stuck in an unknown old manner with very few survival skills and a dog.

In this game you can't face most of the few oponents you meet and have to flee the scene to survive or to use your companion to make it alive somehow and reach the disturbed ending

Good luck! :p

#06 - Cold Fear

As costal guard officer Hansen you have the duty to mop the oceans from evil doers, even if those characters turn out to be russian zombies.

A third person shooter, similar to resident evil 4, passed in a russian crew ship, scary with cool weather effects and headshots! Lots of them!!! For almost every foe in the game!

Check it out...

#05 - Fatal Frame 2

have you ever questioned how it would be to live among the dead?

Now you can... as a pair of twin loli sisters. The premise may atract you by other reasons, but don't shy away as it is a good horror game.

You are led by an unseen force to a deserted village, where there are a lot of sad and ritualistic stories and an opressive atmosphere oozing from the place.

Do you dare to disturb the dead, with only a camera as a weapon?

#04 - Resident Evil 5

Recomended also only for the multiplayer fans and to the franchise fans out there.

The game while it has a intense and interesting co-op mode, that really brings people closer together in a Resident Evil game, it does so with some strick gameplay rules.

It's intense and gory, but also more complicated (with a new gameplay), and co-op oriented.

For single player fans there are better Resident Evil games out there.

For multiplayer fans, there is no better resident evil experience.

#03 - Resident Evil 4

Arguably the best Resident Evil out there!

While some may contest that, none can contest that it brought the Resident Evil franchise from a slow denegerative condition into a rotting fresh and healthy status.

It's a game that while it gives little chills, it provides a intense adrenaline rush mixed with lots of zombie swearing (only on RE4).

#02 - Silent Hill 2

Normaly it would be my number one, but due to sunking into the pitfalls of human nature, it can be quite disturbing. It is not recomended for the faint of heart.

While it is true that it's not as scary as Dead Space, it is has a quality in its disturbing nature that once you've played it you'll probably never fully forget how twisted the emotions and the story really is.

So play at your own risk.

and...

Two number #01s!!!

Why two?!

Because, like no two players are the same, some like a single player horror experience, while others like to share it with their friends and foes alike.

So one for multiplayer...

#01 - Left 4 Dead

- Do you need a reason to start dispatching zombies with your friends?

- No?

- I thought so.

So let the killing begin!

Left 4 Dead has a very limited story to it, but it is a tense, scary and trigger-happy zombie slaughter fest to be enjoy with friends.

So hop in and enjoy!

and another for the single players out there:

#01 - Dead Space

It's an awesome horror game, which is a nicely crafted third person experience, that never dissapoints. There isn't any true flaws to the game, as the all blends together to make a great, scary and disturbing experience for a chilling Halloween in space.

And honorary mentions for:

Condemned. Criminal Origins
Killing Floor
Doom 3
Nanashi No Game (for japanese gamers mostly, do to the game being stuck there)

As i've not played them, but are acclaimed games that are worth to check out.

And one other for Parasite Eve, as i'm currently playing it, and, though the graphics didn't stand the test of time well, the soundtrack, the story and the main character make up for this, turning the game into a hellish role playing survival horror experience. Recommended!

Happy and somber playing for all horror fans out there!!!

 - Assassin's Creed (very good, though a little repetitive) ;
- Assassin's Creed 2 (arriving soon) ;
- Batman: Arkham Asylum (as it's great even for a non fan of the bat);
- Bladestorm (good if you like Dinasty Warriors or Warrior Orochi);
- Warriors Orochi 1 and 2 (as they are very similar);
- Wet (a game in the line of Kill Bill);
- Stranglehold (a jonh woo game [director of movies like Face Off]);
- Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Ultimate Sith Edition (try the demo, arriving soon);
- Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom (try the demo, but it doesn't look all that good);
- Ninja Gaiden and Ninja Gaiden 2 (if you like ninjas and punishing dificulty);
- Ninja Blade (similar to Ninja Gaiden, but more accessible);
- Magna Carta 2 ( a japanese action rpg);
- Devil May Cry 4;
- Wanted: Weapons of Fate (gun oriented action game, probably found less expensive at the account that the developer went under);
- Afro Samurai (based on a japanese anime, with Samuel L. Jackson);
- Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne (on the classics section on xbl);
- Prince of Persia (as it seems like a good game, i haven't played it);
- Jade Empire (an action rpg from Bioware, that is next in line for a sequel);
- Mass Effect (an action oriented sci-fi rpg);
- Divinity 2: Ego Draconis (a cool action rpg with an open world, but the figthing mechanics can get a bit on your nerves).
- Fable 3 (a sure bet in action rpgs)

- Do you see Nicolai?

- We create our saviors and our monsters. The poison that consumes our lives, and the cure by which we save ourselves.

- We create hope and destroy it with dispair.

- That's human life.

As the automatic door closes, and their eyes settle to their fates...

- Dasvedania Nicolai.

Do you have a hidden desire within your mind?

Do you have a game you can't forget?

Are you stressed?

Don't fret!

Game detective will dig up from the canyon the e.t. copy you want!

The pacman arcade of your iddle afternoons in the shopping mall!

The Marvel VS Capcom 2 to play on your sweet dreamcast...

Or the game that is sold out everywhere and you can't live without, but i have.

So call Dexter Radcliff, gamer detective.

I can find what YOU want!

Well today i woke up in the morning, and after a little while, this idea came up.

Sure it can look prosposterous, but i think we'd have a LOT of market for such a profession.

And it's in the videogames industry.

So it's a idea to keep in mind!

Cheers

This a new blog dedicated to small things...

Today's meal is overpowering in videogames.

Is it bad?

It seems so... as almost all games seem to avoid it.

Almost every game featuring a super powered being creates equally strong enemies, not to mention villains, capable of stopping the train on its tracks.

Probably due to the longevity of the game... Most people don't replay a game, just for the hell of it, and tend to go the next one on their list... isn't it?

Also, if the game was easy, the creators of the game would have to include, alternative goals to just finish the game, like accolates and stronger and more powerful weapons and combos. Probably not many are interested in that...

But wouldn't it be great if there was a game that was really unbalanced and broken in terms of equilibrium, yet there was such reward in the gameplay and the feedback of the world, that would keep the player comming for more?

I for one am waiting for that kind of game.

Not a Prototype with its homing missiles and gunships...

Or a Infamous with its electric dependency...

Or a Force Unleashed with its giant grey cyber troopers.

A game that would give the sense of being the ultimate being!

Is it asking too much?

Is there any one being released out there like that?

Cheers
