I'm sure you've heard of it by now. It's called 9 and it produced by Tim Burton and directed by Shane Acker.

It took 14 months of my life but was one of the few project that I felt I had a personal stake in. Shane was an amazing director (first time no less) and had an incredible vision that he shared with us. A lot of very talented people worked hard to make this happen.
It was nice to do a commercial feature CG film that didn't have an animal protagonist. It's dark and sometimes down right creepy, and that's refreshing in mainstream animation.
It opens 9/9/09 (go figure) and while I know many of you will be playing Beatles Rock Band, take a couple of hours and check out a film you don't see every day.
Thanks
Check out a flick I worked really hard on
" Never heard of it. Well actually I have, I saw the trailer, but the only thing I remembered was "Welcome Home" being the song in the background. "
Yeah me too.
This movie looks awesome, I'm going to see it when I get the chance. What did you have to do with it?
Isn't advertising not allowed on GB? And what did you do exactly?
(I'm playing bad cop in case you haven't caught on. Also lol @ you for thinking I'm whispering right now, I'm actually yelling quiet loudly ;))
To be honest, the movie doesn't look terribly appealing. I'll probably go see it though.
The style of it is just unsettling to me... It reminds me of The Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline, and I hated those. The style isn't exactly frightening, but it just makes me sick to my stomach and uneasy.
I've always been a fan of Tim's works, so I'll definately end up seeing this when it arrives in the UK.
Normally I'm a lighter / compositor but we start late in the production schedule so I was lucky enough to start the film as the VFX coordinator. A huge learning opportunity to see the work that happens before we get to it. But lighting is my thing. We are the end of the pipeline, we set the tone and control the visual continuity of the movie. It was really nice to do a 'dark tone' for a change.
@TyphoonSwell: Nope I'm just a guy that worked on it.
@Emilio: That's handled by the advertising team. It can be really frustraing to watch an ad team make a commercial that doesn't work, or worse gives away major plot points. FWIW I think the Ad team has done agreat job so far. I haven't seen any TV spots but the trailer looks great (I'm biased thought becasue it's got 9 of my shots in it).
@FlamingHobo: Not to slight Tim but this is not 'his work'. This is Shane's film through and through. It would never have been made without Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted) but I'd credit the art director for influencing the look of the film over either of them.
@Atlas: Never really liked that song until I saw the trailer.
