My wife and I went to see Thor yesterday.  It's definitely one of the better Marvel movies to date.  Thor is one of my favorites of the Marvel lineup and the movie was pretty well done.  Sure, it had it's cheese moments, and that fucking retarded romance storyline, but overall it was pretty good.  The trailers for Captain America and Green Lantern were also shown, and those both look pretty good as well.  Thor is a badass, being the god of thunder and all, and has some pretty nasty AoE.

Still, if I want a comic book game, I think I'll stick with Ultimate Alliance rather than the games based on the movies.

Edit:  Oops, I should've posted this in the Off Topic section instead of General Discussion I think.  Sorry.

Thor had some strong problems for me to love it, but it was a very good movie.

Thor was aight, but I thought the Green Lantern trailer looked especially bad. I know a trailer's not an indication of quality, but it didn't make me want to see the movie. Also, Scott Pilgrim and Sin City were way better comic book movies.

I liked how they treated Loki in Thor. Thor was probably the second best Marvel movie to date next to the original Iron Man (in my opinion)

I think the Captain America trailer looked amazing.  If it is as amazing as it seems to be, it will be the best Marvel movie yet.

But Thor was good fun.   There were a few parts I was, "eh, what?"  but I thought they did a few things very well (rhymes with Boki).

Really? I went and saw that with my wife and a few friends, and we thought it was terrible. We found it hard not to laugh how bad the CG and costumes were. Oh well, thats good you enjoyed it.

In the captain america trailer where he walks into that room with like 3 soldiers, wearing his leather and his shield shooting a pistol has got to be the funniest thing I have ever seen in a movie.

Noooooo I disagree!! It was fine and all, but there was nothing compared to Black Widow taking down Whiplash's entire complex in Iron Man 2. Thor was pretty much soft porn for comic book girls, the story was slow, and the plot was thin. With that said, I thoroughly enjoyed it, but it's not in my top 5 for comic book movies, let alone Marvel comic book movies.

People just focus on the good movies.

For every Thor; there is a Wolverine: Origins, Green Hornet, Jonah Hex, etc.

When they do manage to make a good movie, such as Iron Man, they follow it with an uninspired, CGI-fest sequel.  If they make a great movie reboot (Incredible Hulk), they'll decide to go for a third actor anyway, because they don't know what they are fucking doing.

The Avengers will be garbage.  Too many characters, too many actors, and none of it will make any damn sense.

I didn't like Thor as much as I liked Iron Man.

X-Men First Class is apparently a disaster, or at least that was the word a few months ago. I don't agree that they're getting better though. For example, I bet Green Lantern will totally suck. So did Wolverine. Iron Man and Dark Knight were good. I find it all balances out, just as it did before. I do agree that we're leaving the dark ages of Spider-Man 3 and X-Men 3 though. /shudder

I also had a problem with it probably because I'm not a fan of vikings, don't know why. Still a good movie
