Disc Boot Failure AGAIN!!! <angry face>
Edited By Mars_Cleric
Okay...
I have Windows 7, it locked up and blue screened now it's alternating between giving me "disc boot failure insert system disc and press enter"
this time it's not Batman's fault
but it happened right after I bought and installed the Tex Murphy games that were in the GOG sale
so I can see what happened here
clearly it's TEX MURPHY'S FAULT
damn you Tex...damn you
EDIT:
fixed now
don't know how
I still blame Batman and Tex Murphy...
It's no coincidence that this happened when I was playing games featuring the world's greatest dectective (Batman) and the... private investigator (Tex)
they're out to get me

hahahaha yes of course its tex murphys fault. hhhmmmmmm that really sucks though. you may have to reformat your computer. im guessing your using a different computer to post this
Tex has that power just as I have the power to post on the internet without a computer
@PufferFiz:
I think it might have died but it happened before and I just unplugged it for a bit and then it worked
I can chuck in the disc and do a repair if I need to

nah, it's just corrupted I imagine
should be able to fix it
and if I fail then luckily my dad is a lot better at this stuff than I am

I don't know if it's sad or fitting since I got this hard drive last Christmas
Sounds like you're suffering from..." It also sometimes detects the hard drive but as a corrupted drive called: aLaLaLaLaLaLaLaLaL "
left it unplugged for a while and plugged it back in, flipped the switch at the back and the circuit breaker tripped before I could turn it on at the front...not a good sign
on further inspection it appears that the aLaLaLaLaLa was for the DVD drive
I tried putting in the Windows 7 system disc and it won't get past the memory check/boot screen
I'm opening her up to see if everything's connected properly
now I wish I had backed it up
Run some virus scanners and if that doesn't work back up what you can and format for a fresh install. If the problem still keeps up then your hard drive is busted and you need to get a new one. Newegg.ca always has great ones on sale for around $50. Just pick one up and slap it in there.
I don't know what happened but I opened her up unplugged the cables of the hard drive and dvd drive and checked them, they seemed fine so I closed her up.
I only plugged in the monitor and mouse and keyboard and then turned it on and she booted just fine.
I'm backing up my hard drive to the server and will go to Dick Smiths at some point and buy a Terrabyte external hard drive to back it up to.
Should only be about $100.
This PC has given me a lot of grief but then just comes back again.
This is the risk with building your own I guess, troubleshooting...
maybe I should have followed Brad's instructions more carefully on how to build a PC
When I first saw the topic name I thought you were talking about walking in your room.
Then stepping on a disc that happened to be on the ground with boots on, meaning the disc breaks.
Failure
ANGRY FACE
And yes this has happened to me, got home from work and stepped on my Halo 2 disc, that was some rage.
