I liked them like when they first became big. Not impressed with them now.
Do you share the Giant Bomb crew's dislike of Linkin Park?
I like them. Then again, I haven't heard anything terribly recent from them. The mix of Piano, Singing, and Rap was pretty unique when I first heard them in my teenage days, and those are some of the songs I enjoy playing now and then since they're so ingrained in my memory.
Their new stuff could be garbage, I wouldn't know.
I'd just like to add that anyone saying "people who like bands / music like that are..." is a stupid and ignorant person. I don't like Hip-Hop, but guess what? I'm not ignorant enough to say anything negative about people who like Hip-Hop or any of the artists. What I am, is decent enough to realize that everyone has their own tastes that I may or may not agree with, and that's what makes us all different. Everyone likes a good tune. Bashing that person or that tune because you don't like it is ridiculously selfish. Let them enjoy what they want, and maybe, just maybe, they'll let you enjoy what you want. If you have to sit on your high horse and bash other people, the music they like, or the artist that created said music to justify your own tastes, then you seriously need to reconsider something in your life.
As Norman Chan says, its always different when people were born during the 90's...
Never liked Linkin Park by the way...I was way into Incubus back in the day when S.C.I.E.N.C.E. and Make Yourself came out...then I started listening to Deftones and A Perfect Circle and that was the time I discovered Tool.
they're okay it's just I hear their songs all the time and now I can't stand them. Also yeah generic.
When my aunt started to talk about them I realized it was a good idea that I stopped listening too Linkin Park. I enjoyed their first two albums back when I was twelve, but when they took forever too release new material while re-releasing their stuff with Jay-Z as a full price mix-tape I moved on. Don't regret it.
I don't care for linkin park at all really but I will say that breaking the habit is one of my favourite songs purely for the fact that it doesn't sound like any other song I've ever heard
The first two albums I liked. I even liked Re-Animation and Collision Course. After that though, they just fell off a cliff for me.
Lol versatile? Their songs all sound the same. Play a 5-second clip of any riff off of any LP song (no vocals) and try to determine which song it's from. A local radio station did it for a contest, which was cruel. Like 10 people got it wrong before someone finally guessed the right song.
That said, I don't dislike their music, but I also recognize that it all sounds the same. They're kind of like an emo Godsmack.
Linkin Park are tolerable.. but Green Day are the most shite band of all time
I would rather wipe my ass with Sandpaper for a week than have to sit throu American Idiot again
actually most of the music today is crap too
Back when I was all angsty and shit. I have definitely moved on since then.

It all sounds like robots and has this high pitched tone that shakes my brain in a weird way. Well the super poppy dancy stuff anyway. Dude bands still rock the gravelly head butt armpit sound still.
I feel old whenever I switch the radio to something other than classic rock for some reason, but then classic rock just makes me feel like I'm at work all day! ARRRGHGHG!!!
That's why there's the bombcast. It just gives me all the auditory stimulation I need.
Well and maybe some Chicago too.
I like Linkin Park. Second band I got into (after The Eagles. I know, right?), but I wouldn't say they are versatile. I remember hearing Mike Shinoda say that they actually take their songs and play them backwards to see if they can come up with anything "new". Kind of bummed me out that day. haha
I had to stop listening to music for the most part
I just listen to Podcasts all day
worst thing is I am super picky on podcasts I listen too..
GB is on my top list of ones.. I am overly critical of them too since I do one..
I think they all need to be awesome..
I never got into their music, but from what I've heard on the radio, I don't find their music good at all.
I adored the crap out of Linkin Park. It was only later that I would grow tiresome of their music, leading to me affiliating new musical groups and genres, like New World and Classical.
linkin park is a shitty band. but it's the fact that they can amass such a large fanbase with their shitty music and convince people they are good musicians that really makes them truly awful. they are practically the backstreet boys with guitars.
and it seems that most people who dislike green day don't realize green day did a lot more than american idiot. dookie was a definitive album and still is.u
I'm not a fan. A couple of their early songs are okay to me, but I think a lot of their stuff sucks.
I kinda hate em now.
But that is mainly for dumping their nu-metal brand right the moment nu-metal went out of fashion and they became a generic rock act overnight.
So I love their first 2 cd's.. oh well.
I liked listening to Linkin Park when I was younger. I do not like them any more, but I do not necessarily hatethem.
Edit:
Green Day on the other hand... bleugh.
no, i usually dont agree with most of giantbomb's tastes in non-gaming related issues (or even gaming ones to be honest). i like linkin park, or at least i like their stuff up to...meteora was it? something like that. Havent really paid atention to their latest stuff, i remember not liking one of their more recent albums
I really enjoyed the early Linkin Park stuff (and to be fair I was like 12 at the time). Kinda stopped caring about their music along the way, don't know why.
