The Clone Wars has been ridiculously awesome this season, and Stargate Universe has been as slow and boring as....well....the last SyFy Stargate shows.

Who saw the new Clone Wars episodes? I am kinda worried that they may be too dark for a show shown on Cartoon Network, especially with that one scene where the guy was tortured to death on screen. But the writing sure is exciting.

I've only seen the first half of season one of the Clone Wars, but Stargate has always been a little meh. Also I love the Clone Wars episodes without jedi, just clones murdering robots.

I don't watch either of those two shows. But isn't Clone Wars a cartoon, and Star Gate Universe live action? If i have those to facts right, how the hell can you compare a cartoon to real people acting?

Thats like comparing Pirates of the Caribbean to Popeye.

@pornstorestiffi:
Also: Popeye is 100000000x better than Pirates of the Caribbean. GO POPYE! Though PotC rules.

@dbz1995: I dunno. I personally hate stargate, and would agree that ORIGINAL animated clone was series is better than anything stargate related. But the level of shittyness (In my opinion) between these two series makes me a) not watch either and b) find it too close to call.

It doesn't work like that.

Even though one show is animated and the other one is not, they both work the same way.  There's no difference in stories.

I've seen the two episodes of Stargate Universe that's have aired so far and don't underestimate it.  It's continuing its murkier, more complex character development that started in the premiere.   I still don't know where it's going which I consider a good thing.  And, I'm not all that sure which characters I like.  So often they do something which irritates me and then they do something later which has me saying "okay, that was cool".  Most of what the show is doing was probably done before in Battlestar, but I can appreciate that Stargate is taking that path and making it their own.  After all, Star Trek Deep Space 9 was influenced by Babylon 5 and it turned out to be a pretty good show on its own merits.   As for The Clone Wars, I can't speak too much about the show's quality.  I've seen maybe 3 episodes from the 1st season and got incredibly bored.  Besides, I just can't have any type off viewer relationship with the Anakin character considering my distaste for the films.  Also, I wish there was more fluidity to the characters.  Everything seems so stiff.

@ryoma122:  No, I said I liked it, too.
@damswedon:   If you mean the 2D animated one that was made up of a bunch of 5 minute shorts by the guys who made Samurai Jack, then yeah, I liked that one, too.  Not so much the current CGI one though.

And speaking of Pirates of the Caribbean...anyone up for the 4th installment?

I really enjoyed the first two eps of SGU. and I just don't get the people that dismiss clone wars. it is often written by people that have worked on live action shows and  is a lot more mature than your average  western made cartoon.

Paul Dini has written a couple of (fuckin awesome) episodes If I am not mistaken... he wrote a bunch of Lost on top of  batman the animated series and the new arkham asylum game.

@marioncobretti: i just dislike the cg series because it makes the clones seem useless. the old shorts made them total bad asses. also general grievous was great in that series.
the new series focuses too much on the jedi and the main group of people.

God no. Pirates is a horrible franchise, even with Depp heading it up.

I've only seen one epidode of SGU, and I thought it was OK, It lays down a decent premise which can be taken advantage of later.  I have to say though, I was little confused by how the first episode kept flicking through events in time, it wasn't very clear to me at first so I found myself in a state of WTF for 20 minutes or so.

If you haven't seen Clone Wars, and a surprisingly a lot of people here haven't, here's the first two episodes of Season 2 on Starwars.com:

Holocron Heist

Cargo of Doom

Episode 3 should be coming pretty soon.
