  • I think the idea of good/bad games is getting really dated. It's all about fun, and Giantbomb shows that. So what if Giantbomb made you want to get a game that underscored in reviews. Now you don't have bad reviews to keep you from buying a game you want.

It's a better (although tiny) upgrade compared to IGN's flash advertisement monstrosity and Gamespot's badly colored indifference.

  • Willy105 replied to the topic Something looks off.... in the New Super Mario Bros. Wii board.
I didn't like that they used the same art style of the DS game, even if all the assets where remade for the higher resolution and detail. I wanted a cel-shaded Mario that looked like the artwork of the NES and SNES games.  But cel-shading would have scared off the casuals.

  • If you change the way Zelda plays it won't be Zelda.  Nintendo will not satisfy the Zelda fans. Because you simply can't without letting one side of the fanbase down.

Emulating the Wii (or any SD console) takes WAY too much processing power. To run a Wii game at the same speed and resolution on a PC, you can play PC games that look far better than any console would ever dream to do this gen.  Sure, Mario Galaxy in 1080p with AA looks like a Pixar movie, but it still looks fine on a TV at 480p.

I tried out the Batman Arkham Asylum demo on my PC, since I would really like to try the game out.

However, on the installation screen, it says my computer does not meet the minimum requirements for the game, having a 1200 Megahertz processor, while the game recommended a 3000 Megahertz one. However, I installed it anyway, and was not surprised that at low settings, the game ran in slow motion. However, I noticed that even at it's lowest settings, it still had advanced special effects that weren't needed and could be removed with older games.

So I went into it's data files and changed the game graphics settings file via notepad, changing everything from true to false. But I got interesting to see how far it could go, and I changed everything to true.

Surprisingly, now the game runs with all special effects, including blur, shadows, and stuff, while running faster than before.

I don't know. I think that's just weird.

I just bought a brand new Acer laptop for $320!

It sports a fantastic 16:9 display, the epic ATI Radeon HD3200 graphics card, 160 GB HDD, 3 GB Memory, all running under the AMD Athlon 64 processor!

This is the first computer I won capable of Anti-aliasing, which is pretty much witchcraft, and can support the latest games!

Which game was it?

It was 10 bucks at Walmart.

Let me repeat that: A Nintendo made game was at 10 bucks at Walmart. When it's $35 everywhere else.

Ever since Nintendo of America discontinued their Player's Choice titles (it's still going on in Japan), Nintendo games have been selling full price since they came out. Zelda TP is still at $50.

But it seems Nintendo of America is quietly lowering their game prices, with NPC Pikmin now at $20 (formerly $30), Big Brain Academy at $20 (formerly at $50), and then Fire Emblem.

About darn time. I hate Nintendo of America for doing these things while Japan (and now lately Europe) has been so cool.

But hey, this is my first Fire Emblem, and I don't know what to expect. I have heard very great things from the series (mostly from raving FE fanboys), but I think I'm going to like it.

Annoying too, because I got a ton of games on my plate already, with Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 6, Anarchy Online, Megaman 9, World of Goo, Mario RPG, Zelda: ALTTP, Donkey Kong Country, X-Wing, and FF7 still yet to be completed.

Today, the Cole Bros's Biggest Circus Under The Big Top came to my local town to perform!

I haven't been to a circus in over half a decade, so I wanted to remember what a circus was like.

First thing I noticed when I got to the parking lot, where Mexicans. Don't fret, I'm hispanic, so it's ok. When I got inside, all of the circus people were hispanic in some way, with the exception of the ringmaster and a lady with dogs. I went to one of the guys selling a small bag of popcorn, and asked how much it costs, and he said 5 dollars. For a bag of popcorn half the size of a $1 bag you get at a flea market.

I bought it.

As I left, the vendor started cussing out in Spanish: "[bleep] [bleep] asking how much a popcorn costs, it's [bleep} 5 dollars. {BLEEP}" I looked back at him with an angry face. I know Spanish, you know.

I was not having fun in the circus. The pony rides where 15 bucks to ride the pony. I am not paying 15 bucks to ride that pony.

But once the show started, all my angers faded away, as the rude circus people made an amazing show!

I was very satisfied, and had tons of fun! There was a great cast, funny (although sloppily timed) clowns, huge elephants, and a midget! And I forgive the rude Mexican.
