The start of the series is great,explaining the origins of the forerunners,covenant,and flood.After that,there is a episode where:A monkey fires a lazor out of his mouth,A spartan and 2 kids fight DBZ style,and a destroyed ship shoots rainbows.Also,that Spartan's name is 1337.Yup.Leet.Talk about butchering the source material.
Yep, seems pretty hit n' miss, like Gotham Knights and The Animatrix. Some of the stories/art are really cool and other stuff is "WTF that makes no sense".
I thought almost none of Halo: Legends was good, it butchered the source material and told its stories terribly. The 1 episode I did like was the one where, as you put it "A monkey fires a lazor out of his mouth ". In case you couldn't tell the episode was a non-canon satirical and comedic take on the Halo franchise.
From what I've seen of Halo Legends... it looks like total garbage. I'm not that into anime, but I can appreciate a good one (used to watch DBZ when I was a kid). I wish Microsoft would lapse on the Halo franchise a little.
And i was thinking I could get into animes from this,but after seeing legends....sheesh.That was a parody??THAT WAS A F'ING episode.Should have been extras.I mean come on,who the hell wants to parody Halo:|.
Wow, a bunch of you are haters. I saw the whole thing in 1080p and I really enjoyed it. I thought they all fleshed out the Halo universe nicely... except for the DBZ, slapstick "1337" episode.
I don't feel like anybody here is hating for the sake of hating or just hating because it's the cool thing to do. People have given valid reasons for why they didn't enjoy Halo: Legends; the source material was poorly handled, it looked like the creators had never played the games, things made no sense etc. Even for most of those who didn't post a reason, it still doesn't seem like they're just hating it because they can. @Agent47CSim2 said:

I didn't think it was bad although looking back maybe it just looked a whole lot better when placed alongside the trash heap which was the collection of Halo: Legends episodes trying to tell a serious story. I went in knowing it was a comedic interpretation and for that reason the whole episode felt like that unlike the others it couldn't really step on the toes of the source material and any poor storytelling felt like it was in jest of the original Halo. Slightly ironic that it seemed to more mirror the genuinely poorly made anime episodes it was placed alongside than it did poke fun at the source material.
