Here's a real dumb question about HDMI.

I have an HDTV from '06 or '07; the back of the tv has one of those old HDMI hookups. It has a spot for the actual cable and then two red and white plug ins for audio, right and left.

If I buy a PS4 will the packed in HDMI cable work with my tv? I'll still get audio and everything?

Yes, I know I'm an idiot.

It would be cool if you could post the model number of this TV, but it should work fine.

It's an old Sony Bravia, model number KDL-32S2000. I figured it would work but I just wanted to be sure. Thanks for the quick reply by the way.

HDMI carries audio so you should be fine; the white/red audio plugs might be for external speakers or something.

If you have anything else that uses HDMI, maybe give that a try. HDMI has had included audio for ages so you should be fine.

From the specs:

HDMI

Video: 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i
Audio: 2.0 Linear PCM 32, 44.1, 48 kHz, 16, 20, 24 bits.

You're OK.

It looks like it might not support HDCP, but you can turn it off in PS4 settings.
