I voted three. I was 13 so I listened to some dumb stuff (Sum 41, Linkin Park) but I didn't really know any better. That was right around the time I started to actually listen to the music that shaped my current taste, so it's not all bad. Also I had to live through fucking emo, screamo, post-hardcore, and a bunch of other shit, so I consider myself lucky.

The usual Linkin Park, Three Days Grace etc., though I also liked Grunge like Pearl Jam and Soundgarden. After a couple years I left Linkin Park and stuff behind and focused way more into Grunge/Alt Rock. Nowadays I still love Grunge and Alt Rock though have added a love of metal and I after years of then hating Linkin Park/Three Days Grace etc. I now can dig them again just to a much lesser degree.

It was mostly classic rock (Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd), mixed with some good then-contemporary stuff like the White Stripes, the Strokes and Nine Inch Nails. There was some stuff I'm embarrassed about, like Dream Theater and Rush, but it could be a whole lot worse.

Yup, I listened to Nu-Metal. Linkin Park and all that shit. My music tastes have evolved into more into progressive/death metal now though (with some alternative rock). I will admit that I still listen to some of the old music I listened to back then on occasion.

@Animasta: They're embarrassing to me because I don't like them. Being libertarians really doesn't help either.

You should be ashamed for being ashamed of Rush.

@chrissedoff: not liking something you once liked is fine but that doesn't mean you should automatically be embarrassed about it. like, I used to like dream theater too and now I don't but I'm not embarassed about that, not when I liked stuff like Korn and Limp Bizkit.

@Animasta: I consider to Dream Theater to be in the same category of badness as Korn and Limp Bizkit, if not worse, because at least Korn and Limp Bizkit were on MTV. I had to seek out crap like Dream Theater.
