I can't remember the song title and barely recall lyrics

There is this song that I think is from the 80s that used to be played at all the family parties. It feels very electronic and the lyrics say "laser beams" at the end of a verse. I've been searching for this song on lyric websites for a few days and I can't seem to find it.

I can hum the song and I've hummed it to several people, but they don't know what I'm talking about. The chorus lyrics are something like "We can we can cause here we are."

I don't know what to do.

Unfortunately none of those. I've been scrolling through 80s dance hits and the songs in that sound like the song I'm thinking of, but I haven't found it.

It's a female singer.

The worst thing is that I actually found the song years ago after trying to remember what it was called. The same thing is literally happening now and I found it once before so I should somehow be able to find it again.

This post is 6 years old and just helped me find this song! Lol. Used to hear it in the skating rink every time we went as kids
