I love finding new music (Bruce's Indie spotlight)
Edited By Bruce
St. Vincent is the lovely alias of Annie Clark, an Indie-Pop artist signed to 4AD, label of such bands as Deerhunter (Vomit), The National, TV On the Radio and fomerly, Dead can Dance. This track is from her record "Actor", which was released May 5th of this year. She reminds me a lot of Regina Spektor and the whole sarcastic-anti-folk thing, BUT she seems to have a lot more talent than Regina. (Even though I still love Baobabs)
I haven't listen to either of her albums yet, but the track listing for "Actor" does seem very female Morrissey.
1. The Strangers
2. Save Me from What I Want
3. The Neighbors
4. Actor Out of Work
5. Black Rainbow
6. Laughing with a Mouth of Blood
7. Marrow
8. The Bed
9. The Party
10. Just the Same but Brand New (I like that)
11. The Sequel

Leaving this comment so hopefully I can remember to come back later and check this out. Love sifting through indie music to find the occasional rare gem.
Intriguing sound. Might have to Grooveshark it and see if I need to purchase.
Also, as a sidenote, I always and forever will associate 4AD as the label the Pixies were on.

The enounciation of her singing reminds me of Supergrass' "Alright"
As for "recent indie" music I've enjoyed. I discovered Chad VanGalen a few weeks ago. Nice and moody
I think this song trumps everything as a musical masterpiece:
WE LIKE THE MOON, NOT AS MUCH AS CHEESE THOUGH
