Where did you get them from?"
did not check URL.

2 of them were AIME samples though. the rest were not even on competitions"

I see, that's probably where I know them from, I took the AIME.

Well, congrats on making it this far. I guess you had excelled in previous AMC competitions to be invited to take place in this one...how many out of the 15 subjects did you solve?

Guys...this is not a fucking homework thread, why does any thread that involves history questions or math problems is considered a homework thread? Get real.

How are we supposed to know its *not* a homework thread? And that you're not tricking us into doing your homework?

I got 3 questions correct, I should have gotten 4, but I screwed up on the fourth one. Besides that, I was clueless.

One kid from my school actually qualified for the USAMO.

Because I got them from competition samples. Just copy/paste them on google and you'll find the source from where I got them.

Clueless huh? I know it was hard...I helped my friend on his preparations and he answered 6...cool about the USAMO kid. If he participated on AIME, how many did he got?

Yeah, he already took it. I think it was something like six hours for two days.

I've never heard anybody call a history question thread a "homework thread".

And as runtime already stated, there is no proof that this isn't indeed a homework thread. Going on to laid-back websites that aren't centered around exams and tests and posting difficult math questions isn't going to win you any congeniality awards, nor will it send your own IQ into the over 9000 region.

It had to be said.

Had to be said? I just posted 4 math problems for some intelligent people to find, is that really a reason for this fuss?

It is not a homework thread. Either solve the problems, say "I can't do it" or don't post at all. School starts for me at September 11th, now I am in vacations. These problems were taken straight from some competition websites -the first 2. The others weren't from competitions, but they were on the same site.

So, get your facts straight before going all "do your homework". It isn't yet a school year for me. If you think it's homework, prove it is so. Stop posting whatever comes to your mind.

Fine, I'll stop. What grade are these anyway might I ask? I'm just curious.

And I'm sorry about that, didn't mean to get you upset or anything.

Not grade, competition samples. Ever heard of AMC? Well, there are the AMC-8 which is for grade 4-8 (I think), AMC-10 or 12 which are for grade 9-11 and AIME and USAMO, which only math-prodigies who have excelled in the previous AMC competitions can participate in.

2 of them are from AIME, the rest are from the same organizations, but where not samples.

Interesting...

I'm not familiar with any of these math competitions actually.

oh well thats really easy then
A=.317544444 + 1.6229051 + -1.94042
  = 2.95 X 10^-5
B= .51488761 + 1.0793861 + 1.4057263
  = 3
Basically, (0,3)?
Or do you want in exact value?

Yes, (A,B) = (0,3)

That 'd be enough, though I didn't expect anyone to do it this way.

1/2 already solved.
