I was born in '76, just wondering what the spread is here. I'm guessing 75%+ of you were born in the 90's, but prove me wrong!
In what decade were you born?
90s. Totally the best decade of those listed. Also, I was born in 90, so I'm really closer to 80s people than a lot of 90s users on this site (lazy teen punks).
" 90s. Totally the best decade of those listed. Also, I was born in 90, so I'm really closer to 80s people than a lot of 90s users on this site (lazy teen punks). "90's SUCKED. No really, I feel you about being stuck 'in-between'. Some lists I look at include 1976 in Generation X, others Gen Y, some even skip it entirely and give the cut-off for Gen X around '74 and the start of GenY around '80, so go figure.
They used to call us 'The Nintendo Generation', hah!
" @President_Barackbar: I feel bad for all the fools that were born after the Cold War ended. They don't know about all the suspense and awesomeness that took place. "Oh hell yeah. Remember those 'special teachers' coming in 'from the state' and telling us how bad Russians had it? I remember they were showing us the TV schedule in The Pravda and it as all like wildlife docs and tours of factories, and I was thinking "that shits better than the crap on my TV".
Yeah but you missed Beavis&Butthead, Ren&Stimpy, ST:TNG and X-Files in their prime. You were around but were too busy pooping diapers. And you missed the opportunity to listen to 80's music without laughing." 91' for me, probably the last good year ever to be born in. "
" And you missed the opportunity to listen to 80's music without laughing. "Doesn't stop me from not laughing at it!
Also, the 90s had the best episodes of The Simpsons. And the best Nicktoons. Anyone out there remember Ren & Stimpy and Rocko's Modern Life?

Also, 90s music was badass. Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Nirvana. And don't give me any of this "You were too young crap." I listened to that stuff every time I went for a drive with my dad, so that stuff is permanently engraved into my brain.
" @President_Barackbar said:I fucking LOVE synthesizers unironically. Well, then I bestow upon you this 80's synthpop gem:" @Fajita_Jim said:

Some day someone on a site like this is going to post a similar topic, but it'll be us 90s people who are the old people.
Technically, if you read my bio on the site, I was born in 1842. I just picked 90s because I love Soundgarden.
" 80s is really under represented. This site is a lot younger than I thought it was. "Really? The grammar and vocabulary give it away for me.
I was also born in 1991. The only thing I remember about the 90's is the vengaboys song and the one with the blue aliens.
Young people like video games! Who knew? To be fair, the 80's bar is neck and neck with the 90's." Oh god, the 90s selection is leading. Oh god. New aspect on GB "
" @Toxin066 said:Yeah, dude, 90s talk was totally rad! (Or was that 80s? I don't know). I just know that I don't like how young people talk. " 80s is really under represented. This site is a lot younger than I thought it was. "i'd say it's pretty much what i expected, but yeah i would have expected +10% on 80's and -10% 90's, then again not every single member took the poll, i'm 80's myself :)
Born in 1993. Too bad I missed out on all the consoles during that time; had only a game boy through out that period.
This. Quite frankly I am shocked. For some reason, I think people born in the 90s are really super young it freaks me out a little." 80s is really under represented. This site is a lot younger than I thought it was. "
As Tested's Norman Chan would say, "Anyone born after 1990 can not be trusted."
Also, people born in 1990 turned 20 last year. Sure, younger than a lot of other people, but not really that young. Of course, people on the other end of the spectrum are 11, so yeah.

I know what people say: "Tis iz teh interwebs no 1 give a sh1t". But really, if you are educated you don't even have to think about proper spelling and punctuation, as the point of education is that it becomes your NATURAL WAY of writing. If it's not your natural way, you weren't properly educated (or didn't pay attention). Typos will happen, but what I'm saying is that I guessed the general population was young from the lack of grammar and composition.
By composition I mean things such as paragraph structure. Paragraphs aren't random breaks, they really do serve a purpose (one main sentence, and three or four sentences supporting the main sentence. When the subject changes you move to a new paragraph and start over).
I don't expect young students to be so well versed as we old fogies, but again it's obvious (to me, at least) that GB is pretty young.
" @RobotHamster said:I was born in 84. I hate all the shows you listed (excluding X-files which I never watched) and hate 80's music. So don't judge everything new like your old crap is better. That's just YOUR opinion. As far as TV goes I definitely think the 90's were way better. From what I've seen of 80's cartoons they do not hold up, and the 90s were packed with pretty cool stuff IMHO. Btw I literally wrote this question down as an upcoming Question of the Day, the other day, no joke! You stole it from me you bastard!!!!!!!!! :P Although I had it phrased a bit different. I may still ask it we'll see.

Yeah, young people don't know anything about proper formatting. Nothing makes me not want to read something less than seeing a giant wall of text. Same thing with punctuating and whatnot. Even other people my age usually don't do that stuff when online. Kinda sad. I do anyway, but as I've said before, I really relate more to older people (probably because most of my childhood compatriots were older than I was)." @MooseyMcMan said:

Man, the internet sure has brought out the worst in people, hasn't it? All this anonymity has brought with it a lack of accountability, which has resulted in the breakdown of society.
Or am I thinking too much into this?
