My mum is 50 today, is that not depressing!? She'll be dead in a few years!

Let's fight against aging! Join me brothers! We must fight!

Get her some Oil of Ulay and she'll be fine.

Hmmm, good plan Batman!

The average lifespan in the developed world is what? 70 - 80 Years.

You will probably die in a freak accident before her. How depressing is that :D?

#5 Posted by Dangerlove (36 posts) -

I went through something like this a few months ago.

#6 Posted by PrivateIronTFU (3874 posts) -

A few years? Did we time travel back a few centuries? I think she'll live many, many more years.

Also, aging is not depressing. People slowly getting fatter and fatter, at least in the U.S., now that's some depressing shit.

#7 Posted by Meteora (5787 posts) -

Good thing she lives in the 21st century, a little more than thousand years ago the average life expectancy was about 40.

#8 Posted by Nelander (177 posts) -

50 and dead in a few years?

Are you, like, planning to kill her?

#10 Posted by Branthog (5598 posts) -

It's not just sad when you see your parents getting to the age that you remember your grandparents at, but it's sad to see your much younger siblings get older -- or the constant reminder when you see people you grew up watching on television or movies or playing music and you realize suddenly that they're in their 60s. And, next thing you know, so are you. Ugh. I just hope I get a lot more FPS and reflex gaming in before then.

I find aging funny.

Haha, that was the family who were really rough but had a nice looking baby, which then grew up and started chasing cars.

The single most gratifying benefit of aging is knowing that all you young whippersnappers will get old, too.

#19 Edited by ZeForgotten (10397 posts) -

A few years and in between 1-5 years, or what? Because if she dies at 55 then that sure is depressing

#20 Posted by DeanoXD (630 posts) -

i think it would depress your mom if she knew, you thought she was so old that she would be dead soon. and if you think 50 is old wait until you get there you won't feel the same way.

#21 Posted by Gerhabio (1977 posts) -

3 of my grandparents died before 60

#22 Posted by deathstriker666 (1337 posts) -

Fuck medicare. Old people fucking over the young once again.

#23 Posted by KarlPilkington (2779 posts) -

Also my Dad died when he was 40 so just be happy people are alive.

#25 Posted by ImmortalSaiyan (4702 posts) -

50 is not that old. She probably has 20-30 years left.

#26 Posted by Slaker117 (4843 posts) -

My mom turned fifty when I was twelve.

#27 Posted by lazyturtle (1229 posts) -

50 isn't really that old. People really start to get old nowadays in their late 60s. You'll see, you'll go away come back and think "damn, my mom looks like an old lady".

Also, your mom is already dead and was replaced with a bodysnatcher. Deal with it.

Some things in life are bad, they can really make you mad

Other things just make you swear and curse

When you're chewing on life's gristle, don't grumble give a whistle

This will help things turn out for the best

Yeah, aging is depressing. Eh, nothing you can do about it though (Not yet at least) so might as well make the best of it!

Few years? She must not be healthy, women are pushing the limits these days as long as they aren't inviting death to dinner. Anyway, I don't see how it's disappointing, but my faith in my religion and future help me to feel better and take every day with new vigor.

#32 Posted by Turtlebird95 (2621 posts) -

If your mum was like 90 this post would make a lot more sense.

#33 Posted by iam3green (14390 posts) -

yes, it is sad. you know what is more sad, you getting older. i know that feeling.

#34 Posted by 234r2we232 (3181 posts) -

Turn on Last.fm on XBL.

Play music by any band that's at least 20-30 years old.

Watch dem pictures.

#35 Posted by SamFo (1562 posts) -
@GunslingerPanda: a simple "happy birthday" would probably be more appropriate than the whole death thing...

#37 Edited by Zacagawea (1617 posts) -

When I was 13 my mom was 60....I was scared then cause I knew she wasn't going to be there to see most of my life and help me through it all. Then later I was like fuck that, when she dies I'm getting the house and money in the bank.
