Pickle Juice

When you finish off a jar of pickles do you drink the pickle juice? Better yet if you do drink pickle juice has anyone tried Pickle Juice & Vodka? I don't drink myself but I "hear" that is a thing with some people. I do enjoy me some pickle juice though. WHAT SAY YE?

I always take a sip at least. Good stuff, but it actually *feels* unhealthy.

A jar of pickle juice makes an excellent barbecue sauce ingredient, especially from sour or half-sour pickles. Normally, though, it just gets dumped out.

pickle juice runs out of my jars before the pickles do.

not tried it with vodka, sounds gross.

If it's pickled chillies I put it in a saucepan with some butter and chilli sauce of some kind and make buffalo wings with it.  You don't have to deep fry the chicken just wet it and coat it in seasoned flour and cook it in the oven then later toss them around in the pan and the flour makes the sauce go all thick.  It's bloody amazing.  My juices are appreciated by all.

I did not even think to ever do that. That's kind of weird to think about doing even.

I eat the occasional pickle. But I do not buy a jar of it so I wouldn't know.

Baha, sorry about that. I thought the thread was going to be about that standup, and when I realized it wasn't I quickly posted it.

Pickles are nasty, so no.

Depends on the pickles, since not all "juices" are identical (or good). I have drank some before though.

Pickle juice was a mainstay during football camp back in the days. After a long practice on a stupid hot day, it was a good way to keep the muscle cramps away.

Haha I tried taking a sip once and yeah, you're exactly right -- it literally feels unhealthy... like drinking formaldehyde or something.

I like pickles but the juice? That seems crazy to me. But I dunno maybe I'm missing out.

I have never bought a jar of pickles so no I haven't had juice.

It's apparently pretty big among athletes, but I am most certainly not an athlete so I just take a sip or two sometimes when the jar is empty.

I used to drink the pickle juice, but I've since kind of lost a taste for it.

No, I don't drink it, but we do use it for some things, mainly deviled eggs.

I used to drink it straight as a kid. Haven't tried it in 10 years or so.
