I just watched his newest video when I heard the news.

The fact that this man made performance art out his own death shows why I am so happy to have lived while he was alive. Before the world became infinitely poorer from his loss, he made sure to make the world a little richer first.

This is some shitty news to wake up to. I had no idea he even had cancer.

Okay, so after he knew he was in the fight he just started to try and get as much out of himself out as possible. Incredible. Damnit though...finally reappearing after such a hiatus it gave hope, but now I see it was just him letting us have one more taste of brilliance. Agh I still can't really process it.

It's pretty darn impressive that he was able to pull off such a well received album this late into his career, let alone while he was fighting for his life.

"Funny" thing is, I never even got into Bowie until recently, yet I feel like I lost a dear friend or something.

David Bowie may have died but David Bowie lived. The legacy he created is just so phenomenal.

Only eleven days in and I'm already completely done with 2016. I was listening to Blackstar a couple nights ago, what a way to go out. I hope he was able to see how much everyone seems to be loving the new album before he passed.

This is a painful loss. Hearts to his family and friends. That last album was his swansong :(

This is some depressing news indeed.

Not what I wanted to wake up to, such sad news. Any UK people 6Music are playing Bowie music all day I believe, I am going to be listening all day.

I was getting ready to head to bed and heard this news. What a punch to the gut. Such an amazing talent.

Edit: Also I want to hand it to him for making it through life in such an amazing way. Lots of "rockstars" burn out after an album or two, plenty go down with their drug and alcohol habits, or turn into really nasty people. Not saying he was perfect but it's nice to see a guy who was able to keep making interesting music right up until the end and as far as I can tell was loved and respected by just about everyone. A real inspiration.

Fuck.. Really saddened by this news. He was an awesome person and an awesome musician. One of the few living legends is now drinking tea in the cosmos with the other starmen.

Man, this is pretty rough. Bowie was a ridiculously important inspiration for me in a lot of ways and it's kind of hard to even believe that he's dead? Like, somehow it feels weird that he didn't outlive me, even though I'm not even close to being half his age.

RIP Bowie it's sad to see all these original artist past away pretty soon the whole music will be filled with shitty fake artist with no souls oh wait that's already happen.

My parents named me after Bowie. The first single I bought with my own money was Let's Dance. I had a pair of 8 pleat Bowie Pants, that I might even have worn once.

Bowie was a genius, a game changer. He was also cool as fuck.
