I was checking to see who was performing on all of the late-night shows last night, and when I saw that she was performing on Letterman, I changed to the channel and put up with a Ray Ramano interview just to see her, shit was it worth it. Her guitar work here was insane, and the horn arrangement sounded fantastic; I can't believe that she was able to turn my least favorite song on Actor, "Marrow", into something like this.I think my favorite part of the whole thing was when David Letterman asked St. Vincent, "Is it alright if I call you Annie?" and she just smiled and said "Please." Humble + Extremely talented.
St. Vincent tears it up on Letterman.

I saw this when it originally aired a month or so ago, and I agree, Annie Clark totally tears it up! She seems a little nervous, this is her television debut after all, but she is still able to put on an incredible performance.
Also, I must say that I'm right there with you when it comes to Actor. That album is absolutely incredible and is definitely on my list of all time favorites.
They're warming up for a Grizzly Bear concert I'm going to later this year, should be an amazing night.
This song is crazy! A really ingenious combination of sounds and instruments. It's sort of Wizard of Oz meets White Stripes Live. Gonna look into this a bit more. Thanks for bringing this to light Bruce!
I'm really not sure what I just listened to was good or bad, it's has really strange arrangements, the horns were cool, couldn't hear much guitar.
Buckethead sometimes does this but in a totally different style.
I've been talking about her CD ever since it came out; where the hell were you? Lol, just kidding.
If you like that, I highly suggest going out and buying ,"Actor", her latest album; not only is it the best album of this year, (BY FAR) but it's become one of my favorite records of all time.
Btw, I just noticed the way she bobs when she's playing her guitar, so cute.
" @Baillie: Like your emo ass hair ^_^ "HAHAHA Ouch. Hey man. The emo hair is cool!!!! Its in style. Unlike this music. So its why he must not like it.
But personally, its not my style. I like the horns. For sure. But her voice is a tad erie for me. I liked the live stuff better then whatever you posted earlier.
nice, now that's a band. Clarinets, 2 baritone saxaphones and 2 tenors?! Crazy. Thanks for the video, Bruce. That was great!
hey they're good.
its about time some indy type experimental band write danceable music. all music needs to be able to make want to get up and move. if it doesnt i think it kinda stinks.
dude tthis band fuckin rocks, thanks a WHOLE LOT for introducing me to this.
i mean wow, chech this shit out:

Distorted improved solos are a trademark of almost all of her songs. She loves them. I will say though, the one on the album is a bit...better, than the live performance.
AND ONCE AGAIN to everyone who is still confused, St. Vincent is not a band...it is one beautiful and talented woman.
