I've been a fan of this enormous explosive device since it was a wee little explosive device in the form of a blog...but I can't for the life of me remember the advent of "duder." I just watch a video one day and it said, "Duder, it's over..." and it's been in use ever since. But where did it come from, anyone know?

It's funny because before coming to this site my dad was the only person I knew who called people "duder".

I think it was in a movie first, maybe Jay & Silent Bob (but probably not).

@spartan1017:  Well the origin of duder itself, I have no idea. But the reason it's on the videos is because prior to Duder it just said "Dude, it's over."
Thing is that when a video was published and it was broken, you would instantly get the "Dude, it's over." Screen. In horror, people started writing things like "Oh God the Duder." or "GB got dudered" in the comments.
I'm not sure when but after the repeated phenomenon, they just changed it to "Duder, it's over." so I can only assume it's related to that.
