Let me know what you guys think. The purpose of the video was to pretend that I am attempting to recruit people to my career of choice. I happened to have chosen video game design.
This is for a grade 12 business/english class. Funny thing is. No one else in that class knows how to embed clips into videos. And this was my first time using PowerDirector for an assignment.
Edit: If anyone was wondering. I present tomorrow. Edit2: Finally figured out how to embed (again).
@Player1: Thanks for linking it. I love how you call me tech savvy yet I keep forgetting how to embed videos into forum posts >:( And.. Yea.. That's pretty much what happened. Jaws dropped. My teacher had a HUGE grin on his face. And the first thing I heard was "Dammit now mine is going to look bad".
@SuperMooseman: I definitely see where you are coming from. My main goal was to come in guns blazing and have their attention from the start, so the clipping of the song was essential to the outcome of the video. The font for the most part worked but I did notice some moments where it seemed like a slimmer version would have done better, because the boldness of it made it a little too hard to read. And yea the black background thing was a last-minute decision because the font would simply be too difficult to read behind anything that wasn't a solid color. Then again, black/red/white, what does that make you think of? GameStop.
Probably too late to make changes but I don't like the font, maybe something similarly big and bold, but lest distracting and cleaner.
And I think you should find some actual video of developers and programmers working with computers and show that instead of trailers, hopefully will turn off the wrong people from thinking video game development is like this:
But that's a much bigger change from your original idea. I'd say changing the font could make it look a lot better, still I think your video is pretty kickass as it is.
@artofwar420: Lol. Yea. It's kind of too late. The purpose was to sell people the idea that game design as worth checking out. And my video did the job. And in my explanation to the class I went through all of the bad stereotypes that game design has. Such as the video you posted :P
