What if ghosts saw aliens?

I've been watching lots of horror movies lately, many of which feature angry spirits. Most of the time I'm watching, I'm wondering "do ghosts ever get amazed by anything?" I mean, when they were alive, they never had cars, television, or the internet. You'd think they'd stop being so angry and haunting people and start chilling out.

So I've been thinking, what could be so fucking crazy that it would even make a ghost go "holy shit!" and stop being so damn angry. And I thought, aliens. What if aliens landed next to a haunted house with angry ghosts in them. Would the ghost be like "what the fuck?!" Or would they just be angry like always and try to haunt the aliens?

And fuck, while we're at it, would the devil have any power over aliens? Would aliens be subject to any terran supernatural influences?

It's a damn good movie, although I bet around half of ghosts would say Alien was better.

Do aliens have ghosts? If so, can the aliens see them or only other ghosts?

I dunno man, I don't think ghosts are sentient they just haunt stuff, sometimes they be trippin and they take their shit to the next level. I think the reverse question is more interesting what if aliens saw ghosts, I'm talking the archetypical logical unemotional grey kind with the big eyes seeing the apparition style ghostie. You think that might break their inscrutable expressionless faces.

I guess to really explore that question we would have to find out why ghosts are so grumpy in the first place. Are there happy ghosts?

But yeah, I think the reverse question is more interesting. What if aliens were prepared to like, invade Earth, but they didn't account for no motherfucking ghost. Aliens would be scared shitless and know that you don't mess with Earth.

Guys, if an alien ghost met a human ghost, would they try to scare each other? And if there were an Alien and a human in the room, who would scare who? Would the Alien ghost scare the alien or the human? And the human ghost? Who would he scare first? So many questions...

@minipato: I've been trying to spitball some new story ideas recently, and now you have me thinking about Ghosts vs Aliens. I'll return here if this goes anywhere.

I'd like to expand this to other horrors. What if a vampire tries to suck the blood of an alien? Does it provide sustenance? Will that alien then become a vampire?

If ghosts saw aliens then unicorns would jump over sasquatches, and narwhal's would walk on land.

I was just thinking, ghosts are not physical beings so they do not have eyes. I would guess that they see humans, other living beings and inanimate objects through souls and worldly attachments (their memories, our memories etc). So, ghosts might not be able to see aliens, because they are not from this world. If ghosts can see aliens before we do, then it would prove that aliens have souls and stuff!

Are these sentient ghosts with the personalities of their prior living selves, or just shades of a powerful emotion imprinted onto a place? If its the latter I expect the ghost wouldn't miss a beat, but if it's the former I expect hilarious hijinks to ensue!

Thus through the transitive property, we would know that "if ghost saw aliens" it would probably be pretty dumb.

I have this question, when aliens die do they become alien ghosts? I think aliens ghosts are the only thing that could freak out ordinary ghosts.. My 2 cents.

Thesy would probably say something like "Yeah, that was a pretty good movie". Ghosts would probably like horror movies I'd wager

I think if ghosts made first contact with aliens, aliens would assume that ghosts are the indigenous inhabitants. I mean, they wouldn't be wrong. Or they would assume that all humans have some inherent ability to have separate ethereal entities from their physical selves. Or perceive ghosts as a sort of rare mutation that occurs when humans die.

I was thinking a mixture of both, but that powerful emotion is really fucking angry. Like The Grudge, where all the ghost wants to do is make other people's lives shitty cause they had a shitty death. Or maybe like a satanic ghost. Malevolent ghosts are basically all I'm interested in in the alien/ghost dynamic. Not those Casper types. And the aliens wouldn't necessarily be humanoid in nature. They could be something like a Hanar from Mass Effect. Like, ghosts ain't ever seen anything like a Hanar before. How the hell do you spook a Hanar? Do you think an evil malevolent ghost would end up being frustrated trying to haunt an alien? They don't know how aliens work. Aliens may not even have strong emotions of fear like humans do. Like, could an evil spirit possess an alien? Could an evil mummy curse befall an alien? They don't believe in any earth religions or superstitions.

Do the majority of other aliens judge the aliens that claim to see ghosts as being looney?

Can Earth ghosts even float off into outer space? Could Mars be right now populated by Earth ghosts?

Jesus, Ghosts of Mars came out in 2001? Christ, I feel old now.

It's the dullest James Cameron movie I've seen and a disservice to Alien. I'm happy The Creative Assembly appear to be making a proper sequel to Ridley Scott's best movie. I liked it the first time, but both times after that were tedious and silly.
