Why do they keep tables and chairs under the ring anyway?

Just wondering why the people who set up the event would always put tables and chairs under there. From a fiction perspective.

Close proximity storage for quick setup for things during the event if needed.

Because if there's one thing in professional wrestling that strains credulity, it's the under-the-ring table storage policy.

To make it more interesting, maybe hide guns and knives under the ring. Then I'd watch wrestling more often.

For quick access in case of a contract signing or a game of musical chairs.

@alavapenguin: You could justify it by taking the grassroots history of wrestling. House shows, much smaller than WWE productions take place in high school gyms and public centers. They throw extra chairs not being used by staff or punters under the ring because they don't have anywhere else to put them. Same for tables.

Other than that, for a while it sort of became a thing that wrestlers would place the items under there for later use, like HHH would place a sledge hammer under the ring before the show starts so he could use it.
