For the chicks. Also, I have no friends.
Why do you continue commenting on a website, with people who you likely will only be "@replied" by once or twice, at the most? SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY
Few of my friends play games enough that I can actually discuss them with them, they mainly play CoD or FIFA and the mere hint that I know more games than those 2 lead to the standard "nerd" comments. So every year when I foolishly get excited for E3 and I am brimming with joy at the possibility of some cool new games, I keep shtum. :(
@FunExplosions: The honest answer is "I". I really don't have any friends that are into games the way that I'm into games. So I have to take that passion to the internet to find like minded people, and the GB community is by far the best around...with a few exceptions.
Why do you bother to look for a relationship, when you'll likely only get a handful of people who will agree to date you?
This pretty much goes for me, as well, except all the friends I had who even remotely played video games are far away.Few of my friends play games enough that I can actually discuss them with them, they mainly play CoD or FIFA and the mere hint that I know more games than those 2 lead to the standard "nerd" comments. Yep, this goes for me, as well. Never had a friend who had a passion for games like I did. Still have no idea why I like them so much. And yeah, GB has a great community... from a distance... possibly only rivaled by other small gaming communities that slowly get destroyed by popularity. Oh... I've said too much.@FunExplosions: The honest answer is "I". I really don't have any friends that are into games the way that I'm into games. I picked A. Even though you mistake "I'm bored with this" with "existensial crisis". Common mistake. Particulary amongst young people who recently studied philosophy or psychology.
Why do I post? Mostly because this is a like-minded community. We all love games. Even a few love the same games we do. In my regular life most people don't enjoy adventure games, or obscure Japanese nonsense. Instead I get to talk about Call of Duty or Halo sometimes. To be fair I did get talk about Batman the week it was out and Dark Souls as well. But that is usually just surface level detail.
Yeah, look at this chick:Everyone else on this site is probably crazy in the same sort of way as I am when it comes to games. And then we all have our own unique blends of crazy to add to that mix.

Saints Row's ads make more sense then this.
She used "then" instead of "than." That's insane!

Play the "10 girls" game: talk to ten girls at a bar; if you get to 0, you can go home. The catch is that you'll never get to 0; you'll at least get some conversations going. And knowing how to talk to a stupid woman -- ah, shit, this is terrible advice. Take it if you just want your dick sucked.

Why do you think anyone is going to bother reading all those poll answers?
Where is the TL;DR answer?
I think the "k" answer fits that category. that covers "tl;dr" and "cool story, bro"
As for my answer, I don't have many friends who play games and who simultaneously like to talk about games the way I'd like to talk about games (which tends to go beyond "yea that was cool").
Well at least you didn't assume I was in high school. That's a plus. But I haven't studied either of those, no. Are they sports?I picked A. I was gonna add an "I feel the need to be sarcastically pessimistic because for some reason I enjoy the thought that some nerds somewhere thought I was witty" option, but I forgot. If I had added it, it would be that option.Where's the 'Holy shit this poll has too many options and i can't be bothered reading them all' option?

Yes. The rules are: bullshit as much as you can and make everyone believe you.
You get paid in one of them, not in the other one.
This is deep, I'm not sure I'm prepared to answer such a question. But since the topic title did say serious answers only, I'll divulge my answer, it was M.
Like Chrisoffer said above: boredom, most likely. I'm also curious.what bought this on?
You missed an option.
I try to only comment when I have something to say that I don't think has been said already or is worth being said.
I don't care about @replies because in most cases the person who has responded has appeared to have misunderstood what I said.
I find it difficult enough to have meaningful conversations when I'm face to face with someone, and Internet conversations are much less natural and have a stilted flow to them, so I often comment without expectation that anyone should @reply.
Nevertheless, I will show my enthusiasm for something I find cool:
DUDE BRO THIS THREAD IS FUCKING AWESOME MAN.

Because the people I talk to face-to-face have little more to add to game conversations than "I like the one where you shoot the guys.", or they only want to talk about Fantasy Game That Bores Me To Tears 3: The Boredening, and at such an extent that I now know every goddamn thing about The Last Remnant, even though I've only played it for an hour or so, and I only did that to keep said person off my back, and yet I feel like I plugged 400 hours into it RAAAAR RUN ON SENTENCE INDICATING A SUDDEN RELEASE OF PENT UP FRUSTRATION FOR THE SAKE OF A MILD COMEDIC EFFECT BECAUSE I LIKE OVERUSED CLICHES I GUESS.
I like seeing people's opinions and telling them that they're wrong so I can feel better about myself.
