Oh hi. I've been working on something from last night and am almost done...I think. I downloaded some brushes from a guy named Daarken, who is a concept artist for Warhammer Online and decided to try them out. Anyways, this is what I came up with:

I'm not really sure how the shading on the hat should look because it looks a little wonky. Oh and by the way, I had to make a brush so the knitted pattern came out correctly, if you're interested in it, I'll upload it somewhere for you.

So, any suggestions on how I should improve?

Looks excellent, I'm not seeing anything wrong here but do you think you can add a neck and shoulders? Just a head kinda creeps me out lol

Your shading overall needs to be clearer, you need to be a bit more decisive with it since the greys are hardly changing. Around her scarf and on her hat the shading is almost non-existant. I like the actual linework though, cool stuff.

Yeah, I had a body on there, but I didn't like it so I deleted it.@cap123 said:

I really don't know how to do the shading of the hat. Shading each individual "knit" is going to be really time consuming. I guess the shading could be a little darker on the face though.

well perhaps the first thing you could do is get a bit more shape around the hat, i can see you've tried to get a bit of perspective on the right side, but you could really try to push the shape of her head but skewing the knitt pattern around. At least then it wouldn't look quite so flat (it doesn't look bad btw), you might be able to get away with some more gestural shading then.

but i dunoo lol just want to stress i still think it's cool

I like the lips, but that one eye... it doesn't match the face. Make it softer, a reflection of the face, not so, here's an eye.

@CowMuffins: I think it looks great, but I know that each of us are our own worst critics. I applaud you for having the courage to exhibit your craft especially in an internet forum where sometimes people can be unnecessarily cruel for the "fun" of it.

@Claude: I know what you mean. I drew the eye before I drew any of the rest of it, so that's probably why it looks so different. Shouldn't be a problem to fix though because it's on its own layer. Thanks for the feedback.
