World Cup 2010
America plays football? Since when?
Anyway I hope England lose quickly so we can move on from this repetitive four year shit. Whats the point? We're not going to win and even if we did, its just a matter of losing again the next time. Spectator sports are for morons.
North Korea have my support. After all, North Korea is best Korea.
Logically, the Spanish would sack their first World Cup, since they are ahead of all the rest. Not as much as Barca is in the club competitions, but still. Xavi, Iniesta, Torres, Villa, Casillas, David Silva, Puyol - all absolute world class. England has a mad strong squad this year, too. One of those two, I'd say, but in the end it'll probably be Brazil ;)
I can barely wait. I'm surprised at the amount of international people here on GB. My team didn't qualify so I'm supporting the same two teams as usual, Portugal and Netherlands. On paper Spain should win it, but it's not always like that especially since it's only 7 games in 30 days. If Rooney isn't back for England I can't see them doing any real damage considering all of their other forwards are lacking.
" North Korea have my support. After all, North Korea is best Korea.@zudthespud: I may sound stupid for asking this, but was this actually a propaganda ad used or did someone just photoshop it?
They have a tough group with 2 of the top 4 teams in the world in their group, but socialism always succeeds. "

" @j_drace said:@girdz: I hope he'll be fit. It would suck to have a player like him miss the world cup especially when this is his year to shine for England. I don't wish for any of the greats to miss the WC, having them there just makes it more interesting. I've seen many different reports so no one really knows aside from himself and his medical trainers." @girdz said:You know what I mean, he's been amazing this season, and he's going to be fit in time for World Cup "" @MysteriousBob said:@girdz: Rooney is INJURED right now. Youve seen United without Rooney, both of my teams (Bayern and Chelsea) have beat them no rooney no goals, same goes for england. Rooney will be back for england but the question is if he will be back in the form he was in. Sir alex`s mind games to play him vs bayern back fired he reagrivated his injury. If i was an england supporter i would not be very happy with Sir Al right now.
Im still amused by the italian coach for england me and friend were talkin. Me german other friend dutch and other firend from england. Neither the germans nor the dutch would at any point accpect a non dutch/german coach it would feel odd. I dont know how english fans feel about it. I feel that all big footballing nations like germany italy france england brazil spain, and so on, should have a coach from the country it is after all a national team.
I hope Rooney will be fit and that Gerrard and Lampard can bring their best form. The goalkeeping position is my biggest concern, Green and James are not exactly Buffon or Casillas.
From an outsiders perspective why not Harry Rednapp, or David Moyes... but my guess is Moyes is going to Man u after Sir Al and Rednapp is goan stay put.
As for GK, Joe Hart...
But dont worry its not just england germany are having probs aswell our only on form striker, kevin kuranyi (Will probaly come to england this summer) is out fo favour with our coach, he has scored more goals in the bundesliga than 3 times Klose Podolski and Gomez combied yet our coach is gona loose face if he goes back on the ban he gave him years ago because he walked out on the team... All the big teams go through things like this i just wanna see the best cup we can get, all teams at full strenght... except for spain i dont wanna loose to them in another final... hehe
But yeah, I take your point - United aren't nearly as threatening without him. We desperately need a new striker - an established one (as good as Hernandez may become, he's still relatively young and inexperienced). Seems like we've been heavily linked with Benzema recently, may be a good signing if we can get him in for a good chunk less than Madrid payed for him.
As far as the world cup goes, I'll be supporting the Oranje again...and anyone who plays France (no prizes for guessing where I'm from)
I have no idea how they're pulling this off in South Africa. I wouldn't be surprised if there was at least one high profile death. On a related note, I hope get to a point in the tournament where they look like they might win then lose in a real rough way.
I really hope Argentina can overcome being managed by that beached whale so we don't have to hear any more of "Yeah Messi plays great for Barca but what has he done in the WC?" Also, I really hope the US gets past the group stage because it will be pretty embarrassing if we don't. We'll probably lose to England, but the other two should be wins.
" Youve seen United without Rooney, both of my teams (Bayern and Chelsea) have beat them no rooney no goals"
except united went out the the most stupid fifa rule ever, away goals. fifa need to stop with these pointless rules to make it look like they actually benifiting the footballing community.
