Which pistol do you roll with in RE4?

This thread is kind topical for me since I was on YouTube recently and got this guy in my recommends. I clicked his stuff out of boredom and was completely floored cause he had one video dated 4 years ago as some sort of RE4 boss run - his NEWEST video right above it from 2 days ago was from RE4. I was like wow..dood.. you've been making Resident Evil videos for 4 goddamn years. Now thats dedication.

EDIT: As to how it related to the thread - he was using some sort of handcannon for his boss run or whatever.

TMP (the P stands for pistol).

In most playthroughs, I skip all the handguns. The TMP covers all the utility of handguns and has higher single-target DPS than any of them.

They're all alright.

Probably the default one because of the crit chance. Or possibly the Punisher because it has that penetration ability. But all four of them are decent - though honestly it's been a while since I played RE4 and even at the time the handguns weren't my primary concern (even though they did see a lot of use on my first run through).

Red9 or bust. With the thingy attached to it.

Normally I would say Red9, like any other sane person. But if its your 4th playthrough... You could try the Punisher and kill mutiple enemies at once. It only really works on small areas and if they all stand in a row.

And if your on New Game +, try the Matilda

Fully upgraded Red9 is the weapon that works throughout the game. Lots of ammo and damage, so you can basically beat the game with only that.

Red9 all the way. You want the most out of your ammo in a game with scarcity of resources.

Red9 with the attatchable stock was my JAM.

That thing had surgical precision.

I've attemped TMP runs before, but the game's staunch refusal to give me sufficient SMG ammo always made me abandon it in favour of hand guns...

Red 9 is the go to. Obv. But since you've played it so many times already, why not go Punisher? Try and get the most out of that penetration perk.

I'm way beyond pistols at this point. Equip the Chicago Typewriter, toss on the Fedora outfit, and proceed to fuck shit up.

I was just about to replay this, after this thread reminded me of how awesome the game is, but apparently the Wii U version doesn't support the gamepad. And the PS4 version still isn't out :-| Hmmmm..

Red9 is the only logical choice. The best damage for a pistol and once you buy the stock has great accuracy with less sway and absorbs that nasty recoil.

It also has the added bonus of being the coolest looking gun in the game. For playthroughs where I don't use the Red9 I like to use the Blacktail for the high rate of fire.

Blacktail, for style mostly. Might stick with the silver one next time for the sake of consistency during cutscenes.

Red 9. No other choice.

Red9. That thing is a fucking monster. The most bang for your buck, easy. All of the other handguns are too weak or encourage spraying bullets wastefully, so nuh-uh.

Red 9 + stock

Sounds the best. Performs the best. Simply the best.

Red9. Throw that stock on there and ball out of control.

For added ballin', horde ammo for the magnum of your choice up til the last quarter of the game, and then use nothing but a magnum and the rocket launcher when needed.

Red9 forever. My favorite part of RE4 is how they handled the noise and animation for slow powerful weapons. My kit all throughout the game is Red9, bolt action rifle, Broken Butterfly and the original shotgun. I don't care that the auto stuff is more useful, I just love these guns too much. (Though I always almost give in right before that one sniper section in the castle)

On professional I always preferred the default handgun because it's cheap to upgrade and you get its special critical headshot bonus pretty early. Otherwise Red9 erryday.

The overpowered weapons are boring. I don't even max out the ones I do use. Game could have been better balanced.

I also like how it looks more classy and not like standard issue. The government won't hand you that gun.

Red9 is more popular than Persona, also it's a fucking Mauser.

Red or dead. Can't wait for the ps4 version. Re4 is the only single player game I can just keep replaying every year or so. I think I own every console version released. I guess skipping the Xbox one will break that though.

The Red9 with the stock is one of my favorite weapons in any game.

I beat the game once using only the Red9, so....

Red9. But after getting pretty good at the game, I chose the default pistol with the critical hit upgrade. I also started knifing most things, which is totally viable in 4.

@millaj: Especially great to use the knife v Krauser. I'm fairly certain that the absurd damage multiplier against him makes the knife do more damage than the Broken Butterfly pre-exclusive upgrade.

@adequatelyprepared: That was fun. I really liked the knife in 4. They went the opposite direction with 5 and nerfed the hell out of it.

Is this a trick question? I only remember RE4 having one pistol. I called it the Red9.

I seem to remember rolling with the Blacktail because of it aiming fast, having a fast fire rate, and looking stylish as shit.
