Achievements are extra challenges added into video games that sometimes carry a point value or unlock bonus material, and are sometimes solely for bragging rights.
Control Points are typically spots on a map that must be taken and held for one team to beat the other in some first-person shooter multiplayer modes.
An Easter Egg is an intentionally hidden cheat or hidden content in a video game, also known as a "secret".
Some game environments feature certain areas that allow for special kills outside a player's normal cadre of moves. These kills usually feature unique animations such as slamming an enemy's head through a television or sticking their head in a trash compactor.
Objective-based team gameplay occurs when one group attempts to accomplish some goal -- enter a base, capture or destroy some MacGuffin, rescue the hostages -- while the other tries to prevent it.
Respawning is when a player or NPC dies and then reappears moments later - usually in a predetermined location or group of locations - while the game continues.
A respawn time forces the player to wait for a certain amount of time before they can re-enter a game and continue playing.
