No new games now until late April...
Damn!
Was looking forward to seeing what next week games would be, guess I'll have to wait a bit longer.
Dude, they already put out Jungler. What more do you need?
Ok, serious face. Game Room launched with potential, but they really need to fill up that library as quickly as possible. I don't quite understand the delay considering there were quotes saying that they could put out 10 games a week for "as long as that makes sense". Still, I guess considering how busted Game Room was at launch, there's quite a lot they hadn't quite thought through here. The core concept is still sound though, and the presentation is still appealing enough, so people shouldn't be abandoning ship just yet. I guess Game Room's vindication will be one of delayed gratification.
The guy was on Major Nelson's show saying they had over 90 games ready to go and more than enough games in the pipeline to them well into next year. I'm guessing what you're saying about them fixing the bugs is probably true.
Though this delay will most likely make e buy a few more games that I was less sold on from the demo play. Microsoft sure have done a good job of creating a presentation that makes you want to buy more and more games, I'm jonesing for a fresh hit.
I really hope they're using the extra month to work on bug fixes. Challenges are still really spotty in their functionality, not counting the issues with disappearing mascots and leaderboards refusing to load. Really, everything in the Game Room system needs to be fixed up a little so it loads faster and I don't have to worry about losing game plays or arcade layouts somewhere in the cloud.
It wouldn't hurt if they added or expanded features, too, like full worldwide leaderboards for each game, or a better system for working with Intellivision overlays (and maybe a note in two-player ONLY games like Football, Armor Battle, and Sea Battle that these games can't be played well in single-player). If they could find a better way to show off cabinets and unpurchased games without having to download free packs full of them, that'd be nice, too. Heck, add better leaderboard/medal functionality for games that don't have it but could, like Sub Hunt -- surely someone out there could try taking on all 36 enemy ships on the hardest difficulty, and be ranked on time/speed.
That's just wishful thinking, though. If they can fix the bugs in Game Room and come back in a month with a good selection of games ready to be pushed out, that's good enough for me.
i wonder if by the end of April they'll still only put out 10 games or if they'll add 10 per each week they missed. Like, maybe we'll get another 30 by the end of April.
I dunno..it bums me out...but i discovered the 3D Arcade MAME front-end so what do i care.
"Sub hunt? What the fuck. I want slightly newer arcade titles, brawlers especially. "Don't knock Sub Hunt!
Although I must agree that more modern games should be coming soon. Why they released Atari 2600 versions instead of their Atari 8-bit counterparts is odd to me. I guess they want to introduce game systems chronologically.
best part about Sub Hunt in Game Room is it's mascot...and that's only good cause when yer friend's see it they go," why the hell do you have a Tetris block floating around here?"
" @Atlas said:I'm going to continue my trend today of asking "Can I use X with Y?" by asking "Can I use an xbox SFIV tournament edition fight stick with a PC and MAME?"" @Jimi said:OH SNAP! I think I'm going to stick with MAME. "" MAME must be hard to port. "Zing. "
" Is there a chance we may see Donkey Kong come to Game Room? "There's about zero to no chance you'll be seeing Nintendo franchises on Game Room.
Well unless the 3DS is a massive flop and Nintendo bottom out and are forced to sell to Microsoft, so about as much chance as Stephen Seagal has of winning an Oscar.

" Looking forward to Game Room totally fizzling out by the time they start actually releasing new games weekly. Gonna need a serious marketing push to get people back into it after that long without new content. "Maybe they expect Pitfall to sell units.
Seems like they might have pushed it out for Block Party and got screwed up on both the technical perspective and in having enough games ready to go. Right now there are maybe 3 games I'll be getting. I'm not about to start filling my library up with crap just because they haven't released anything else.
I'll most likely come back around when they start releasing games I'm interested in, but this has been quite the bungled roll-out of a feature that seemed promising.
