    Short summary describing this game.

Browser Game Guide: Action Options & Abilities

    Marvin the Dog

Named after a dead comrade of the Soldier’s, Marvin is very much loved by the team. As the days wear on, both the Doctor and Sgt. Burden will remark on Marvin’s place in the… food chain.

    • Pet: Pet Marvin. Seemingly has no effect. Does not cost action points.
    • Hunt: 60% chance to catch an animal, yielding a random number (~6) of rations.
    • Kill: Receive 10 rations for killing Marvin. Costs 1 laser round.

    The Soldier

Marvin’s implied owner and the other hunter on the team, the Soldier is usually very matter-of-fact, and will often remind Burden to keep a good stock of rations and ammunition. The Soldier usually suffers a great morale loss if the Doctor runs away, dies, or is killed. Apparently hates the Engineer.

    • Talk: Increase morale rating by 1.
    • Hunt: Costs 1-3 laser rounds; 90% chance to catch an animal. Generally yields more rations than Marvin’s hunt.
    • Kill: Receive 17 rations for killing the Soldier. Costs 1 laser round.
    • Starting morale: 14
    • High morale: Standing upright.
    • Medium morale: Taking a knee, with gun raised.
    • Low morale: Huddled in a ball on the ground, shaking.

    The Doctor

Smoking an eternal cigarette that never goes and out and has no harmful effects but tastes great, the Doctor is chiefly concerned with the Medusea virus, and keeping the team safe from it.

    • Talk: Increase morale rating by 1.
    • Prepare Medicine: Create 1-2 vaccines.
    • Repair Radio: Repair radio at 2% per action.
    • Kill: Receive 15 rations for killing the Doctor. Costs 1 laser round.
    • Starting morale: 9
    • High morale: Smoking.
    • Medium morale: Looking around, paranoid.
    • Low morale: Slouched over, head in heads.

    Sarah, the Therapist

The group therapist, Sarah is reading a book called The Legend of the Keymasher, a story about a boy who “saved old earth with an old computer”. She is the Engineer’s wife and will lose significant morale should the Engineer perish. Ironically, it is Sgt. Burden, not the Therapist, who actually administers the group therapy (by way of a rousing speech).

    • Talk: Increase morale rating by 1.
    • Group Therapy: Increase everyone’s morale by ~2 each. Costs all daily action points.
    • Kill: Receive 12 rations for killing the Therapist. Costs 1 laser round.
    • Starting morale: 6
    • High morale: Reading book.
    • Medium morale: Tense, foot shaking anxiously.
    • Low morale: Balled up, shaking like crazy.

    Donald, the Engineer

Married to Sarah for seven years, the Engineer’s morale tends to drop quickly and often. If Sarah dies or runs away his morale will plummet. As the game progresses he will begin to ask Sgt. Burden to choose Sarah over him, should the need arise. "Not very charismatic, but has a good heart," Sarah says.

    • Talk: Increase morale rating by 1.
    • Repair Radio: Repair radio at 6% per action.
    • Kill: Receive 21 rations for killing the Engineer. Costs 1 laser round.
    • Starting morale: 7
    • High morale: Making calculations on pad.
    • Medium morale: Arms crossed, pensive looking.
    • Low morale: Shivering intensely.

    BR4ND-0N

    A well-dressed robot.

    • Request Inform: Provides the numerical morale value of all team members (Soldier-Doctor-Engineer-Therapist) as well as Radio Repair progress out of 50.
    • Repair Radio: Repair radio at 4% per action.
    • Destroy: Receive 30 laser rounds for destroying BR4ND-0N. Costs 1 laser round.

    Other Actions

    Sergeant Burden
    • Cure: Use 1 vaccine to cure a team member of the Medusea virus. Team members are paralyzed (do not animate) when sick. Attempting to cure a team member when you have zero vaccines still costs 1 action point; however, talking to a team member who is paralyzed does *not* cost any action points, and will often yield a funny response.
    • Add wood: Any night without fire leads to a game over.
    • Watch fire: No cost. Sgt. Burden reflects on the situation, providing different text depending on how many days are remaining.
    • Count rations: No cost.
    • Count medicine: No cost.
    • Inspect radio: No cost.
