Guardians of Middle-Earth is a game that seems at odds with itself at almost every turn. It's a MOBA - and a surprisingly competent one at that - made exclusively for consoles. Its use of the Lord of the Rings movie IP goes both too far and sometimes not enough. Multiplayer online battle arena, or MOBA for short, have become a big thing for PC gaming. A few months ago, the developers for League of Legends threw out a picture with statistics that showed it was the most-played game in the world. Guardians of Middle Earth does a faithful job at turning the PC genre into something accessible on the controller.
