The ending was awesome and the next episode looks intense with 117 showing up

I just have a question, when does this take place? In the Halo timeline that is, because I thought it took place after the events of Halo 3 but that's clearly not the case

I mean, they don't know what the Covenant are, what their ships look like and what elites are, I am confused

Forward Unto Dawn takes place around 25-30 years before Halo 1, 2, 3 and 4, which takes place in 2552-2557.

I genuinely thought that this episode was amazing, the emotion is ramping up with each new episode, and the feeling of awe and terror at the end when the ODST's are dropping, all from the perspective of these kids. Then when the atmospheric elevator falls shit gets real. Halo has always been from the perspective of such powerful characters, this is a nice change. Also watching a couple skinny kids watching this massive Elite loom toward them was priceless.

This episode was amazing. I really wish we got that Blomkamp Halo movie even though I still loved District 9. But with this series and the launch trailer I am pumped to be Master Chief again!

While this episode was awesome as well, still prefer Episode 2. Lasky's journey in that was amazing. Doesn't matter though. Episode 4: OH GOD THE COVENANTS HERE MASTER CHIEF IS HERE BALLS OUT MADNESS YEEEEAAAA

Not to be super nitpicky with everyone saying that the Spartan we see through the camera is chief but it totally isn't. It's Spartan 104 aka Frederic, Supposedly the camera view is from Chief's helmet though. Dunno of there's any confirmation on that though. Not trying to tread on any toes here, I'm just picky with my Halo fiction.

This is so much better than it has any right to be. I guess if you stitch all the episodes together, you sort of end up with the Halo movie that everyone wanted, ya?

@Manhattan_Project: Seriously, the bodies falling at the end were insane. I was not expecting that. I hope they sell this on Blu-ray, I would love to watch all the episodes uninterrupted in extremely high quality.

I had been ignoring these because I thought they'd be shit, but I was messing with Anniversary/Waypoint this morning and ended up watching all three parts on one sitting. This shouldn't be as good as it is, It's far better than a lot of TV out there. The whole end part of the third episode was great. I loved the bit where one of them looked through the window and the ODST troop drops in. Really, really well made.

They're doing a good job at making the Covenant intimidating again.

The first episode that didn't come across as a cheesy teen flick. Legitimately good! That Elite... that Elite was frightening!

Not gonna lie, went into this thinking it would be shit, I think we all did really. But, it's awesome! The production values are top notch and the acting ain't bad either, it's got me well and truly pumped for the rest. For Narnia!

I just watched all 3 episodes. I was quite impressed! I only played Halo 1, and a couple hours of 2 (up until the point where you play as the Covenant dude,) but this is making me rethink my decision to skip the Halo games.

Should I play through 1-3, ODST & Reach? Any skippable? I'm more interested in the story, and have no interest in any multiplayer.

You were right, I gave it another chance and the quality was definitely higher than I thought, and it does get better.
