    Halo: Reach

    Game » consists of 13 releases. Released Sep 14, 2010

    A prequel to Halo: Combat Evolved, chronicling one of the most cataclysmic events of the Halo Universe through the eyes of a squad of Spartan super-soldiers known as Noble Team. It is also the last game in the series developed by Bungie.

    Halo 3: ODST was an expansion with 14 months in development and made by a small group of people. Halo: Reach is going through the 3 year cycle with hundreds of people working on it.  Just like 2 and 3. This will be a full game that earned it's $60 price tag. 
     
    Why did I make this thread? Well because alot of people don't seem to get it in their heads that ODST was just to keep us waiting, not for it to be a full game. When I asked a friend of mine if he will be getting Halo: Reach the other day, he said "No way, I am not wasting another $60 dollars on a $20 game." that being said, Halo: Reach is a complete game not an expansion. Don't blame Bungie for the $60 pricetag, blame Microsoft.

    I have seen so many people who think that Reach will be like ODST so I wanted to clear things up, did you even read my F***ing post?

    you can't say it WON'T be like ODST until we know more... 
    I know that you're saying it's a full game/treatment or whatever, but more time does not necessarily mean a better game.

    Im pretty sure it will be Halo, just like ODST was Halo, and Halo 2 was Halo. Until we see more, there is nothing from it looking like just more Halo.

    My thoughts exactly.  Now don't get me wrong, I've gotten over my Halo-hating phase and enjoy the games nowadays.  Hell, ODST was my favorite despited it's "undeserved" price point.  However, I've gotta say expecting it to play either un-Halo-like or to be such a drastic improvement/departure from the previous games may be stretching it a bit. 
    After all, Halo 3 came out 6 years after the original game and 3 years after the second, and these games all play pretty much identically.

    You made this thread to help allay your own inner doubts that Reach will be as much a letdown as ODST. You didn't make it to change other people's opinions in that regard - unless you're naieve enough to think that you can. You have no idea if Reach will be worth it's price tag. You have no idea what the game will be like. No-one with their priorities straight even really cares if it will be. So, they don't need this thread to "set things straight". Honestly.
