The new title update for the game is going to render all of the discs that were sent during the update preview useless. Don't worry though, Microsoft should have sent you an email with a code to download Halo: Reach from Games on Demand. I guess the only real downside to this is that people who have limited HDD space and want to keep playing won't be able to. The game is 6.6 gigs.
Halo: Reach
Game » consists of 13 releases. Released Sep 14, 2010
A prequel to Halo: Combat Evolved, chronicling one of the most cataclysmic events of the Halo Universe through the eyes of a squad of Spartan super-soldiers known as Noble Team. It is also the last game in the series developed by Bungie.
PSA For Those Who Received Reach From The Beta Preview
It's crazy that they did this. They sent out discs for a firmware update beta. There was no reason to give this game away twice, but they did. Pretty cool of them. I was trying to think of some way to give the code away here on the forums, but I already offloaded it on a friend.
Got my code. I actually think Microsoft did a great job handling this. Could have been a nightmare for them.
Yes and no. A lot about it is mad Halo (the way it's moves, the pacing of the combat, the overall universe), but it's definitely a departure from the other games in tone and storytelling. And I feel like it has the least interesting level design of any of them.Actually played a bit of the first mission today...so this is Halo then huh?
Awesome. Sold my Halo Reach and totally regretted it. Now I'm getting it back, with profit! :D
So you have had to play the beta to get the code, correct? Because I obtained no email yet... I just hope it's my impatience testing me.
@Tru3_Blu3: Oh sorry, the thread title might be a bit misleading. It's only for people who were in the dashboard update preview beta.
@InsidiousTuna: I like the way you think! ; )
I don't need my digital copy so I was asking a few of my friends over at Comic Vine last night what kind of contest I should hold. If you guys have any ideas or even want to co-host a contest with me so we can give away multiple copies let me know.
@MSFeather: Send Vito a message. He's been giving games away in the GB forums for the past year. He'll probably be able to come up with something.
I got my Code on Friday or so - debating what the hell to do with it. I don't think I like Halo: Reach enough to pay for the 6.8GBs of bandwidth it would cost to download - otherwise handled pretty well by MS

@SteamPunkJin: I would love you forever if I could have your code. I play Reach nearly everyday, and the concept of doing that without a disc is very appealing.
You love the game and want less wear and tear on your system. So you know what? Sure. Check your PMs, code will be waiting for ya. Give your copy to a friend or something, something cooler than selling it back to Gamestop anyway.
