A hamburger is a hunk of ground beef served between two pieces of bun-configured bread. Hamburgers are often served with a variety of toppings and condiments. It is named for the region in which it was invented, not for the kind of meat (as is often mistakenly suggested).
Well to make a long story short, I'm having homemade, grilled burgers tonight. Anyone else dining on the almighty burger this evening? What's your take on homemade burgers?
Had a big barbeque yesterday, and went with the frozen burgers due to the volume needed. Good lord, I'm never doing that again. Flames everywhere, grease tray about an inch full, and one enormous mess to scrub out of my barbeque when I was done. There was so much grease flying around that flipping the burgers occasionally caused parts of the burner to go out for a few seconds.
I much prefer making them myself with lean ground beef, if only to save my poor barbeque the indignity of grease. Plus, knowing you're eating that shit is disgusting.
