    By the year 2027, the North Koreans have managed to unify Korea, annex Japan, and also invade the western half of the United States. As an American rebel fighter, it is the player's duty to help push the NPA out of the United States and end the citizens' suffering.

    Mediocre


    Too short campaign, uneven graphical quality, atrocious A/I and random difficulty spikes mar a decent premise.  The controls are fine and the game includes the requisite turret, helicopter, etc. levels but the A/I has the uncanny ability to see you from clear across the map and completely ignore your squad mates to shoot you through cover seemingly at random.  There are glimples of what this game could have been when the game slows down and offers in-game cutscenes setting up the desperation and deplorable living conditions but this is wasted by standard one-man-army FPS cliches soon afterwards.  Worth a rental, not a buy.

      Homefront is what you would call a train wreck. A disaster that is hard to understand when everything looked so promising. Who  didn't instantly think of Freedom Fighters when first seeing this, who didn't love the idea of an alternate future where North Korea invaded the U.S. of A and you had to set it free?       Never surrender: A Homefront Review 0

      For me, it's hard to think of or play Homefront without conjuring up memories of playing Freedom Fighters, the squad-based third person shooter released in 2003 by io and published by EA.
