Z0MB1ES!!!1 is the best game on the indie games channel.

If you've played Katamari, you know that what-the-fuck feeling you get the first time you play a game that is truly bizarre. This recent XBL Indie Games Channel release is a culturally American Katamari Damacy. It has zombies, rock music, and guns... what could better represent American culture than that? These slices of America are delivered in such a way to make you wonder exactly what it is you have just experienced.
 

Lucky for us, it's also boatloads of fun and hilarious. The background music is really undeserving of that moniker as it takes center stage. We are treated to a self-referential song about the game even going so far as to convey the developer's hope that you will buy the game (after all, it is only a dollar). As the chorus comes in, both music and action become more intense. The once slow pace of zombie spawning is stepped up by what must be a factor of five until the chorus is over and the pace slows once again. Later, a meandering instrumental section brings with it... SNAKES! These are the snakes from the classic arcade game Snake in which bodies are composed of ASCII smiley faces, none of which can be touched. Then, we are onto a segment of trippy electronica in which the background becomes something photographed by a space telescope and we are fighting pale greenish blobs that break apart.
 
The action is very intense but it never feels you have less than razor-accurate control over your fate as the game plays perfectly. This genre is simple by its nature, but it can certainly go wrong. This game is no example of that. Instead, it is one of the most highly polished and entertaining games on the indie games channel. At a dollar, it should be an instant purchase.

A work of genius needn't be complicated and I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MBIES!!!1  ((or easier typed as that equally cool and cheap zombie game)) is proof of that.   This ''cool zombie game'' caters to basically every type of gamer, its pure and straight to it....this...is a gamers game.  What you see in the screenshots is literally what you get.
