    Ikaruga is a ship engineered in the village that shares the same name, Ikaruga.   
    Ikaruga is piloted by a downed pilot by the name of Shinra who crash landed in the village of Ikaruga in a failed attempt to bring down the Horai nation's plans. 
    Ikaruga is the first fighter plane engineered to switch between two different energy polarities and is able to successfully switch between the two giving it the ability to absorb and re-use enemies energy.

     Abilities

     
    •  Ikaruga possess the ability to change polarities to avoid or absorb different colored attacks.
    • When Ikaruga is set to the white polarity it has the ability to destroy enemies of the black polarity much easier and has the ability to absorb attacks from enemies of the white polarity.
    • When Ikaruga is set to the black polarity it has the ability to destroy enemies of the white polarity much easier and has the ability to absorb attacks from enemies of the black polarity.    
    • When Ikaruga has absorbed enough of the enemies attacks, it is able to unleash a flourish of an attack which scatters the screen; homing enemies the player may have missed with standard attacks.
