Well, I decided to start screwing around as Blast Shard 350 is kicking my ass.  I figure out that it IS possible to get to the top of Alden's tower, beyond where most people think it stops.  You just have to hammer the jump button around the garbage and work your way onto the chain link.  Once you get up there, it's glitch city.

 they shouldn't have put somewhere you weren't supposed to get to in this game, especially since Cole is all about climbing shit.  It's just wrong to have a place you can't climb to when most of the game you're climbing.
