    A brand of flight and naval combat simulations made by Electronic Arts that lasted from 1995 to 2002. Although the name isn't used anymore, unnumbered, and spiritual sequels are still being released.

    In 1995 Electronic Arts announced that it had acquired the rights to use the Jane's Information Group, a world renowned publisher of military books and periodicals, so that it could add authenticity to it's combat games. For the next decade the Jane's brand was a hallmark for in-depth games for hardcore simulation fans.
