About Kei Sagami
Kei Sagami is the first character the player takes control of. However, the player only has access to her two times in the entire game, depending on choices they have made. At first glance, Kei seems like a normal girl, but it is revealed that she actually carries the gene needed to allow Maken to brainjack, so when she first touches the sword, she ends up being the energy that Maken uses. As the game progresses, Kei gets weaker and weaker inside the PSI dimension, and depending on the player's progress, she will get fully absorbed at certain points of the game, unless the player visits Dr. Guinness at some point of the game. The second time the player gets control of her is if they are following along the 'sacrifice' path, against the final boss of the majority of the paths in the game. Compared to her stats at the start of the game, Kei's stats are maxed out, and can be attained even if the player manages to get to that point even with the Brainjack rank at 1.
Her father, Chief Hiromitsu Sagami, works at the Kanazawa Research Institute, while her mother was a blademaster, which depending on how the player goes through the order of areas, will either be shocked that she found out her mother was a blademaster, or that she isn't surprised that her mother was a blademaster as she knew all along. Kei wants to work with PSI when she is older, as the player finds out when she first introduces herself to the player in the world of PSI, perhaps following in her father's footsteps. She also has a friend named Kou Yamashiro, who is very concerned of her after the incident that occurred in Kanazawa Research Institute. She also had a tutor named Fei Chao Lee, however he is killed in the opening intro by a Hakke, and is the one who tells Kei to take the sword (Maken). Depending on how the player answers her questions, she will say that she wants to travel the world with the player, but the final outcome must end with all the Hakkes defeated, none of the Blademasters fought, and Dr. Guinness visited for it to be possible.
