Overview
Leeroy Jenkins is a character that first became known through an internet video that gave rise to a popular meme. The video depicts a World of Warcraft raiding party going over their strategy to take on monsters populating a neighboring room. Among this party is a paladin character, Leeroy Jenkins, whose player is supposedly away from his keyboard while the discussion is being held. When the player returns, he charges headlong into the room with the monsters before the rest of the party is ready, letting out a battle cry of "Leeroooooy Jenkins!" This action causes the monsters to begin swarming, and the raid party panics in their attempt to complete the encounter. The end result is a full party wipe.
After the video spread and gained popularity, the character of Leeroy Jenkins in particular became the focus of an internet meme. He was eventually given his own card in the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game and later Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft.
