I did not think I was going to like the new character because I liked the old ones so much. After playing L4D2 last night I think I like the new characters even more than the old ones with Ellis and Coach being the standouts. Do you guys like the new characters? Who is your favorite?

DLC Bill skin and voice plz, Valve.

While I like playing as Coach I think Ellis is my favorite character. The guy says the most random things and is so funny. I die laughing every time I go to the horse statue in the demo and he just says "Horse". Nick is funny in his own way too, Rochelle though.... pretty boring. Though I enjoy what Nick says when she dies.

I thought the old ones where much better. Coach and Nick are okay, i'm hoping they DLC some new characters.
Anyone else see that screenshot with old characters on some roof in L4D2? I can't find the link anymore

I really liked Nick. The new cast is overally ok, but it's missing something....

I'm a fan of Coach. Ellis is second fave.

What I want to see in L4D3 is the dream team: Francis, Bill, Coach and Ellis. That would be awesome. Or a good female character to replace Bill as he's the weakest of that group, you probably want at least one female and Zoey and Rochelle are decidedly meh.

I like 'em. Decidedly different from the original cast.

Only one I like is Ellis.

Coach is amazing.
They should scrap Nick and Rochelle and make it Coach, Ellis, Bill, and Louis.

I'm starting to think the same thing, but that is probably skewed a little bit by just how much more voice acting there is in Left 4 Dead 2. I gotta agree that it's Coach and Ellis, maybe even a little Nick. Rochelle is the least inspired of the bunch, and I'd give anything to have Zoey back over her. I'm wondering how long it will be before modders have worked out how to transfer maps and content between the two games (Left 4 Dead 1 maps and/or characters in 2, and vice versa). I'd really like to play the original campaigns in Left 4 Dead 2, with the new special infected and weapons. It'd be cool if Valve would do that, themselves, as some sort of bonus for people who bought both games (and probably make it paid DLC for those who don't).

I feel like they're just as good in their own way.  Personal favorite is Nick just because of what an asshole he is, but Ellis and Coach are hilarious, too.  The only problem is Rochelle.  She seems just very... boring.  Zoey had some personality in the first one, but Rochelle is pretty bland.

I liked the first one because they had Zoey. The sequel.. not so much.

The next DLC after this, should be based around a prisoner, the prisoner's (untrustworthy) Cellmate, the prisoner's most hated gaurd and the prisoner's mom. lol. 
This would be awesome. Especially if they have to escape from a prison full of Zombie's. :-) 
 
I could just see his Mum shouting at him for enjoying killing the zombie's and him replyig "MUUUM!! STOP FUCKING NAGGING ME! THEY'RE DEAD ALLREADY GOD DAMMIT! YOU ALLWAYS DO THIS! About 24 hours. This method is a simple initial effort though, so although you can play through the L4D1 campaigns in L4D2, it doesn't have as much functionality as you'd probably want (no new weapons for instance). "

I can't say I like the characters really. This game would really benefit from using the likeness and voices actors the players actually know. Especially since the comments are counter to the atmosphere and the game makes a dash for the goofy side of things and away from dead serious tension. My suggestion would be a cast consisting of Bruce Campbell, Simon Pegg, Danny Trejo and Milla Jovovic.
